We have lived in this area for over forty years and this restaurant location has always been popular. For years it had the reputation of being a great place to eat with a fabulous view of the Rockport Harbor. We returned this July with our family to find that the now Blue Lobster still had the wondeful view, but very disappointing food. The children looked forward to their macaroni and cheese but it came out pasty and obviously a box preparation. The service was quite slow for a weekday night. Some of our meals were fine, others just so-so. It was overall a pricey and disappointing meal. The tourists are still packing in, however.

Blue Cheese Scallops. I never would of thought these go together but it was awesome. Service was good, but bring your own booze because they dont have a licquor license

I see some of the reviews posted are mixed. But my family, which dines out often, had the best meal of our trip here. My daughter is vegetarian--her veggie burger looked home made and gourmet! I had their mussels in cream garlic wine sauce--asked to have it over linguini instead of marinara. Y-U-M. My sister had the lobster roll--beautifully done almost like a panini but plenty of lobster and the most delicious bacon garnish on the side. My dad had baked scallops which he has ordered all over locally and he said the Blue did it best. Wait staff were attentive and courteous. Price was better than many nearby. Highly recommend.

We heard great things about this place but our experience was poor. The New England Chowder had no taste other than cream with some slight notes of seafood, the Caesar salad was nothing but some lettuce with grated parma at first served with sour cream but corrected with off the shelf excuse for caesar dressing. The swordfish kabob had great vegies but dried out fish with skin still attached.
