“Terrific weekend getaway”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

We stayed with three young children. The ready access to a pool and quick drive to beaches in Rockport and Gloucester made this a terrific location. Clean, well kept up, friendly staff. Loved the waffle lady! Looking forward to returning.

We were recommended to visit Rockport MA when travelling around New England and found this hotel on Internet. Very good, clean and had very good continental breakfast. Convenient location for visiting Rockport an Gloucester areas and beaches.
Will recommend this hotel, as long as the rowdy guests experienced one evening stay away!

We went to our nephews wedding in Gloucester ma. So the family from the wedding party stayed in the Inn. we had a king side bed. we had a very late check in after the reception. They held our room for us. They had a microwave, and coffee pot and a refrigerator. We received a wedding party discount. ( which I must say was less than $10.00 off the regular price). The bed was very comfortable, the room was nice and very clean. The only comment was that the bed pillows were not for a king size bed. They had 4 small sized pillows on the king sized bed. We had a continental breakfast of toast, English muffins, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs. They had a variety of juices and coffee too. The only comment was the waffles were hand cooked by the staff and many people had to wait for them, They could not make them fast enough. The Rockport Inn had no vacancies so it was busy.Nice but I think it was over priced.

My family and I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend, 2013. We stayed in a room with 2 queen-sized beds, and there was plenty of room. We liked the layout. The room had a refrigerator and microwave, which helped us keep costs down by purchasing our own water / soda, and having microwaveable dinners when we returned after a long day sightseeing. There is a Shaw's supermarket down the street, which we took advantage of. The staff was very helpful with suggestions of things to do. And recommended we visit the Hammond Castle - which was really a fun place to go to. My daughter forgot her toothbrush, and the front desk has one for us. Our room was not in the main part of the hotel, but we did not find that to be an issue. We used the pool every day we were there. My husband used the treadmills, and found that one of the was not operating correctly. It would have been nice if the fitness center had some weights and/or an exercise ball for those of us who want to use that type of equipment. There were a few glitches however. When we first arrived, our television did not work, and the person at the front desk didn't seem to be too concerned... said sometimes that happens when the room is cleaned. She never offered to come down and check it out, or anything, and we were left on our own to figure the foolish thing out until the food delivery man helped us and fixed it. The internet connection is not very strong, and many channels were wavy, until we switched back and forth and finally got the channel we wanted. One day they did not clean the room. So we told the front desk, and they said they would be right down with fresh towels. 30 minutes later I had to make a call reminding them not only to bring fresh towels but to bring trash bags for the trash buckets. The continental breakfast was ok - there should have been some fruit. And the restaurant only serves breakfast, so for lunch and dinner you are on your own. I've done a lot of business traveling, and this hotel is ok. It is in a great location for both Rockport and Gloucester. Our room was quiet, even thogh the hotel is located on a main street. I do believe it is a bit over-priced, and I was disappointed in the lack of consistent housekeeping. But, with that being said, we had a great time in the Rockport / Gloucester area, and would consider coming back to this hotel.

Room Tip: I do not like adjoining rooms, and the staff was very accommodating in finding us another room

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend 2013, it was a bit overpriced but an easy walk to downtown. The rooms were quite nice and clean. The only issue was the soundproofing between rooms weren't great. Our room and the adjoining room had a "suite door" you could hear the conversations next door pretty clear. That really was our only complaint. The staff was great, the grounds were nicely kept. We would stay again.

Stayed here overnight while on a trip around New England. it was a very comfortable room, with lots of space. It's conveniently situated: although you're not right "in" town, you're just a few minutes away.

The staff and the locals we met were very friendly. This was true for our whole visit to Rockport, including where we had dinner. Maybe when the summer really cranks up, it's different, but we enjoyed the friendliness.

The pool and hot tub were great - and huge! We had a long chat with a friendly local who has a swim club membership at th hotel. It was relaxing.

We recommend this hotel!

I stayed here with my husband for a night to celebrate my birthday. The location of this hotel is great! It's a 2 minute drive to 'downtown' rockport where the shops are. It's a 5 minute drive to Gloucester and the restaurants there.

You can tell the hotel is older. We stayed in a king size 2 room suite. You walk into the living room area that had chairs, a couch, TV, coffee table and the mini fridge/microwave. The bathrooms were updated the most with granite counter tops. I closed the curtain in the living room and had to catch a bug so that was a little disappointing. In the up stairs where the bed was, if you looked up on the ceiling there was mold. The ceiling was probably 11feet so I can see how it would be hard to clean, but come on. My husband got a splinter from the railing going upstairs. The bed was very comfy though.

We went swimming and the pool itself is nice, but don't go into the bathrooms by the pool. They smelled so bad like pee and mold. Whoever decided to put carpeting in a bathroom in the pool area should rethink their job.

The breakfast was nice. They had the normal continental breakfast stuff and if you could find a person that worked there they would make you waffles.

Overall the staff was great, very friendly, but I don't think we'd stay there again. The hotel was too outdated for the price. I'm not a picky person and I've stayed in some skethy hotels during my travels and this goes on that list. It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't the best. The location was perfect, that is the only saving thing for this hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review, it was disappointing to hear of your difficult experience since we only opened in the summer of 2009 and have been successful in providing a quality product with great customer service... with over 270 guest reviews we take these and use them to make our property, team and guest experience better, so again thank you for allowing us the opportunity to improve!!
