From arrival to departure, the welcoming staff at the Brass Key will make you feel right at home. The accommodations are first-rate. The location is excellent. I've been staying here for years and cannot imagine enjoying any other inn in town as much. The pool and outdoor spa add a nice touch, too.

I had never been to Provincetown and my husband decided to take me on a long weekend last Fall 2012. From the moment you walk on the property, you feel like you are visiting someone's home and not a hotel. Brass Key definitely has a bed and breakfast vibe. The hotel attendant was very nice and directed us to our room located in an adjacent building.
The room had antiques and a true quaintness to it. The bathroom was a decent size with a beautiful sunken tub.Great walking distance to all the action of the main street.
Fire pit and cozy couches...met some nice people while relaxing!
Awesome breakfast!!!!!!

Room Tip: Not much of a view as you are tucked away from street. There was a room that seemed to be all by itself near the pool...looked interesting.

So comfortable that you immediately feel relaxed and at home. From the wine and cheese reception to the rooftop view of Providence to the delicious continental breakfast everything feels perfect. Our room, number 137 was as cute as a story book and felt totally secluded from the rest of the property. The atmosphere of the courtyard styled hotel is fresh and stylish. The landscaping is intricate, beautiful and perfectly manicured. Thanks to Robert for a warm welcome to the brass key. The central location to Commercial drive is conducive to wonderful walks through picturesque downtown providence. I highly recommend this hotel. The included shampoo and conditioner worked well with my thick curly hair, a cut above normal hotel toiletries

Stayed for a little more than a week in mid-September. Much of the property needs an update. The same interior décor, fit, and finishes are pretty much as they have been for some time now (>15 years I would say). We stayed in the original section, and the carpets, paint, paisley wallpaper, bed linen, moldings, furniture, bathroom fixtures etc. need to be refreshed – and soon. The breakfast was ok, but the evening drinks included CHEAP wine and a few beer selections. The same CHEAP light food/snacks were offered every evening: crackers, raw veggies, chips, and salsa. If you’re going to put out such low-end stuff, at least vary it a bit over the course of 9 days. The other issue concerns the pool. The heater is shut off in mid-September, and it was COLD! Lots of guests were commenting that it should be the other way around. Turn off the heater in the warmth of summer, and turn it on come this time of year when it chills down. A money saving decision I guess. The good points include the staff (particularly liked Juan), the Shipwreck Lounge concept and bar staff, the housekeeping services (apart from the long black hair I found in the sink upon check-in), high-quality toiletries, and of course the great location in the middle of it all. I stayed here when Michael M opened the place 20ish years ago (and several more times since then), and it’s a far cry from the luxury establishment it used be. But nonetheless we enjoyed the place in general and would still recommend it. However, I will explore other options for my next visit, something I would not have done in years past. I hope the trio of owners will invest some money to bring the property up to the exceptionally high standard it used to be.
