(a) Get yourself a nice bright, warm-but-not-hot day
(b) Bring friends
(c) Park yourselves on under an umbrella outdoors at Mac's
(d) Order a nice crisp wine, some Happy Hour (3-5pm daily) Oysters ($1/per!!) and a couple of sushi appetizers.

That's there's a recipe for some great, chill downtime.

Staff is very friendly and helpful, the service fast and efficient and the setting is fine - even if the surrounding views are somewhat charmless.

Our cruise stopped at Provincetown and we took a bike to ride some very nice trails. Coming back we were recommended to go to Macs by the store owner. It didn't look too inviting from the outside, but we were glad we didn't judge that book by its cover. The seafood is great. Extremely fresh. And also the wines are fabulous. As well the service was extremely good.

We started with oysters, followed by sushi (the extra wasabi and ginger we asked for twice didn't show up on the bill) and the lazy lobster (everything to share). We had a lot of seafood during our 2 week stay in New england (on- and off the cruise), but this restaurant was the best!

We went there because of the reviews, and also because there is easy parking right in front, and I was on a quest to find fresh mackerel in their market. OK - no mackerel (except for bait) anywhere on the Cape, but we did find some delish pates (smoked bluefish and smoked salmon) in the market side. The restaurant side was an amazement. We opted for outdoor seating. Super friendly servers who know the menu ingredients well, and go the extra mile. Nice wine list. I adored the mussels (steamed with a broth that included a hint of Pernod). My husband had oysters on the half shell, and we both had chowdah. For us it was a light lunch. There is also an extensive sushi/nigiri menu. We will be back in Sept. and will certainly return here.

Best oysters. Went 2 days in a row for soup (has a kick and a dumpling) and then took some soup home. Sat at bar, very friendly, fun.
