Walk around the multi-level museum-like visitor center and get a taste for the wildlife you might be lucky enough to encounter during your visit to the tip of cape cod.

Here is a tip. Can you say..."FREE?" The observation deck on the roof of the Cape Cod National Seashore has a 360 degree view of the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Cod Bay. One sees the famous Dune Shacks and the rolling sand dunes from this observation deck. Bring a camera. Cape Cod Ben

the best part was perhaps the 10 minute movie on the "ships of wood; men of iron", a history of the us life saving service before it became the coast guard.

The Sat Pond Visitior Center is definately the place to start your visit of the National Seashore and get oriented. One center is not better than the other as another review claimed as they both offer very different perspectives and histories of this vast and ever changing national resource.

The Province Lands Visitor Center offers breathtaking views that have to be seen in person to truly appreciate. From one side of the top deck you view the amazing Privincetown Dunes and from the other the entire Cape Cod Bay from the tip down. It's nature's Empire State Building, truly beautiful.

Within the Provincetown Lands there is beautiful Racepoint beach, especially beautiful at sunset. One of the top sunset spots on the Cape without a doubt.

The rescent installation of new exhibits at the Lifesaving Station are unbelievable. Again the National Parks have painstakingly created a museum worthy of being part of the Parks' Service. I went somewhat grudingly to the reinactment of an early 1900's livesaving, but ended up really glad I went. It was so well done you really felt like it was real and it was a lot of fun. A great activity for kids. It was educational the presenters were very kid friendly to the large group of children at the reinactment we attended. The children ranges from elementary age to teenagers and they were all engaged and attentive especailly when the reinactors fired the actual cannon used in the 1900's and had the kids try out the lifesaving tubes. Well worth it for all ages. I reccommend going to an early evening reinactment and then catiching the sunset at Racepoint.

Each spot along the National Seashore is unique and one cannot be compared to another asbetter or do this, but don't do this. Over the years we have chosen one or two spots to visit as part of our vacation plans as to enjoy each of them, and now we have been returning to our favorites and find with return visits there is always something to see that you may not have seen on the previous visit because there is so much to take in.

Some other great points are the Truro Lighthouse and museum, another amazing sunset spot, and the Nauset Light presentation on how they saved this beautiful lighthouse and the keeper's house by moving it are worth a visit.

The National Seashore is an amazing and ever changing landscape. If you are a lover of nature and history you will be amazed at how much this destination has to offer, and if you just enjoy the beauty of the shore you will be amazed at how much you can learn while relaxing and enjoying these beautiful spots.
