“Always a must.....”
Reviewed August 9, 2007

We travel to P-town once a year for 3-4 days. Our trip wouldn't be complete without a meal at Bayside Betsy's. Fabulous tuna (my husband's favorite) and must have Lobster Bisque (my personal favorite). I don't know what the detractors encountered, but we have never had a problem here. We always meet friends there (one's a chef), and usually asks for something a little different than it's described and it is never an issue. So I know everything is made fresh. And Betsy and her husband are simply the best. Don't go to P-town without stopping at Bayside Betsy's. You'll be glad you did. We always are!

“One of my favorite P-Town restaurants”
Reviewed July 18, 2007

Don't listen to the haters! Very personable, attentive and efficient staff... and an owner who is friendly and ever-present (and not afraid to usher rude or obnoxious patrons out the door discreetly in order to maintain a nice atmosphere for other diners - which I suspect has landed her a few negative reviews on this site). And yes, they do have THE BEST clam chowder I've ever had.

“Great food, great atmosphere, great place!”
Reviewed July 1, 2007

I dined at Betsy's with a group of 7 friends recently. Like some of the other reviewers, we did have to wait to be seated despite having a reservation but to be fair we had arrived ten minutes early (completely out of character for 8 girls!) and we made some great friends in the bar during that time.

It was worth the wait, the food was fantastic. The majority of our party had the tuna special and all agreed it was awesome. Other highlights included the ravioli in red pepper sauce (yum). Honorary mentions go to the bruschetta starter and also the calamari. One member of our party had the shrimp pasta and was slightly worried when she had to decide how many shrimp to order (they are priced individually) but when it arrived she was pleasantly surprised and decided that 4 shrimp really was optimal!! Definitely try the Little Black Dress red wine also.

Besides the food, it was the atmosphere in the restaurant that really made our evening. Betsy stopped by a couple of times and was so friendly and interested in what we thought of the food. Our waiter had an entertaining sense of humor - when asked for water when he was ready he replied "You can't wait until I'm ready honey, I'll get it for you now". Also our new friends from the bar were seated at the next table and kept us entertained including singing Happy Birthday to Betsy. It was great - the whole restaurant joined in the singsong.

Overall, we have a very enjoyable meal and would definitely dine there next time we go to P'town.

“Great Place”

A great "like home" place with an awesome waterfront view. The prices are reasonable, the chowder and lobster bisque are great, and the owner herself is always there and personally checks to make sure everyone is doing well.

A great place for dinner. Food and wine selections are plentiful and good quality. Betsy is warm and charming and we found the staff to be attentive to our requests. Chowder is superb!
