“We love the Mews”

We've had dinner here twice and are always impressed. They have a great, and reasonably priced, wine list and the food is fantastic. The portions are huge so if you sit at the bar or on a high table it's ok to order a salad and split an entree. The staff are friendly and provide great service. Definitely recommend the lobster risotto. It's a nice bowl of risotto with lobster meat on top and the slightest hint of truffle. Our favourite dish.

“An exceptional restaurant”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

The Mews is almost certainly the best restaurant in Provincetown. Advance reservations are essential. We booked on the same morning and were offered a table for three at either 6.30 or 8.15 pm. The later time was fine for us (so we could visit the Boat Slip tea dance earlier) but clearly those two timing options may not suit everyone.

The restaurant has sea views in the Eastern part of the town, with dining on two levels and a small, crowded bar on the upper, entry level. We arrived early for our reservation and, as the bar was full, were directed to a terrace bar under different ownership some five minutes walk away.

We were seated promptly at 8.15 and invited to choose a vodka cocktail from a list of 200 varieties which they hold in stock. Fortunately, our waiter was more knowledgeable than us and helped us make our choices. The service throughout our meal was absolutely first class and ensured that no food arrived until we had finished the (very large) cocktails.

For starters, we shared some crab cakes and our main courses included half a duck and a lobster risotto. The menu is quite extensive and many other dishes looked excellent. Half a bottle of Californian Chardonnay and a bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir ( not a great choice) accompanied our meals. The quality of the food was excellent and only surpassed by the level of service which succeeded in being excellent without being obsequious.

Although the restaurant was full, it did not feel overcrowded on the lower floor (unlike around the upper floor bar area) and the overall ambience was very agreeable. In summary, an excellent find. The total price for three was USD 235 plus tip, including the cocktails and wine....acceptable for a restaurant of this standing and quality.

“Great view, great service and delicious food!”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

My friends and I had a wonderful meal at The Mews. The scallops were recommended by our server and they were excellent. I have dined there a few times now and have enjoyed both dinners.

“Still a winner!!”
Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

Last night at the mews was a stellar evening

Not only was the food superb our waiter Michael was excellent!! Please try the lobster dumpling in miso broth. I had the lamb chops. Done to perfection. The couscous was not very good but the delicious lamb was excellent.

A must eat when in Provincetown. Treat yourself to a special night.

“The Best Restaurant in Provincetown”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

I feel that the Mews is the best restaurant in Provincetown- and this is a town with many excellent choices. The downstairs dining area is at dune level with a beautiful view of the ocean. The Thai martini tastes like pure ginger (is good-sized and potent) and the complimentary homemade foccacia with onions melts in your mouth. We then shared a garlic shrimp appetizer (camarones al ajillo) and a nice mixed green salad. Our entrees were the lobster risotto which had large chunks of fresh lobster, peas and shiitake mushrooms and a creamy, melt in your mouth risotto. My wife had papardelle pasta with nicely seared scallops with spinach, mushrooms and garlic in a light lemon sauce. All was perfect- the food, service, atmosphere- everyting.
