After a wait of 45 minutes we got into the famed Lobster Pot. To be frank, it was a bit of a disappointment. The restauarant was packed and there was an atmosphere of "lets get you in and out"... the priority of the service felt very much like it was all about turning the tables quickly. Our server was brusque, bordering but not quite rude. We both had the chowder to start. Nice but not spectacular. For mains we had lobster ravioli, which was nice but the pasta was too thick and it lacked delicacy. I had the Cod Mornay.. which was delicious. We skipped dessert, after "feeling the pressure"... overall, ok.. glad we did it, but probably won't be back. There are a whole host of other alternatives in P-town.,

We went to the Lobster Pot two nights ago. It was good, but not great. A bit slow, our waiter was too busy to serve the quartet of non-traditional men, and we had to wait, although we came their first. The prices are higher than advertised.

A Provincetown must go to, the food has always been fresh andprepared perfectly. The service did not rate that high. The waiter seemed snobbish. I had some issues and he had deaf ear syndrome. Before we were through we got a new waitress our waiter had to leave and she was taking over. This waitress was very pleasant, wish she were there for more than just the check.

My partner and I arrived in Provincetown yesterday evening and decided to go to the Lobster Pot. I was not totally overwhelmed. First, the upstairs, where we were told to go to be seated was very warm. We ordered the Clam Chowder, which is always good. Next we ordered the Clams Casino. It was good as well. My main course was a mistake. I order the Lazy Stuffed Lobster, which was basically all breadcrumbs with a little bit of lobster underneath. My partner ordered the fried seafood platter which was average. Overall, we left underwhelmed, compared to previous visits. This place is ok but if you are looking for a relaxing, romantic seafood dinner, this is not the place. It is a P'town landmark however and at least worth a trip in for the Chowder!

Sure the lobster is good (how can mess this up), but i had several meals there for the chowder, which is still good after all these years. A must visit for any Ptown visitor.
