“Good Lobster Good Service”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

Don't be put off by the exterior. Based on its looks, I wanted to find another place for lunch, but our friends said that was not an option.

Though the restaurant was crowded in early October, with a line out the door, we were seated within 10-15 minutes. Crowds this big means there's good food to be had. Parties of two and four were seated faster than large groups. We sat upstairs with a beautiful view of the harbor.

All of us had boiled lobster and clam chowder. Everyone was happy with the food, which was reasonably priced. Their menu is available on line: http://www.ptownlobsterpot.com/menu.html

The service was friendly, though not particularly fast, but no complaints. Even though they were packed with people waiting in line, we were not rushed to eat up and leave. The wine list by the glass was very skimpy, though for full bottles, there was an ample selection and reasonably priced.

“Too expensive, no attention”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We went to Ptown off season and a lot of the restaurants were closed for the season. We were starving and in need of some famous Mass. lobster rolls, so we popped into the Lobster Pot. The staff seemed friendly enough, but the waitress literally had to be flagged down every time we needed something. I try to get the awkward eye contact *hey! me! over here!* I have no drink, need food or "x". It was frustrating vying for the attention of the waitress who only had two tables at the time... The food is grossly over priced and average. We purchased a lobster roll, two sodas, fried calamari app and fish and chips. We paid $63. Ridiculous. The food was not terrible, but it was just average. The fish needed some seasoning desperately. I had to salt and vinegar it down to the point of sog for some flavor. We wouldn't come here again, try somewhere else to eat in this beautiful little artsy town trip advisor fam.

“Excellent seafood- for a price”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

My wife and I both really enjoyed the extremely fresh seafood offered here. Downsides: it's a very cramped space- crowded and not particularly roomy; and the prices are sky-high. Be prepared to spend over 60 dollars for two. For you rich people out there, you're probably thinking, "That's nothing!". But for us middle class people, we could eat for days on $60. A great time, but once is enough for a trip.

“5 Star Ocean View With 5 Star Service and Wonderful Lobster Bake”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

Obviously if you go during off season, there is no wait, and the service is superb. We went for lunch, got a table ocean view upstairs. Ordered the lobster bake: 1.25 lbs lobster, mussels, corn on the cob, and came with salad + lobster bisque. Served with a bread basket, the pumpkin bread was great,

Also order the clam chowder, thought it was average, preferred the lobster bisque. The lobster avacodo mango cocktail was delicious, and a piece of art to look at. Thanks for the TripAdvisor review, great tip!! Big enough as a meal.

Our waiter was attentive but not annoying. This is truly an excellent place. Not sure about all the "over priced" reviews. Where can you get that lobster bake food for $30 + the ocean front view and freshness?? A bit high expectation??

“Great meals”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

After reading reviews on the this restaurant we decided to check it out for ourselves. The restaurant was easy to find. We went for lunch and came back for dinner.

Service was great, servers were knowledgable.
Food was excellent, well presented, a bit expensive but considering the location, acceptable.

We had a lobster salad roll and a veggie mozzarella wrap for lunch and the clambake for dinner.

In all we enjoyed our meals and the restaurant.
