“Dolphin Fleet Whale watching”

Provincetown Whale Watch
Reviewed September 2, 2013

This was fantastc!
I was really worried about motion sickness but knew if I didn't go, I would forever regret it!
Transderm patch + sea band bracelets + a couple of ginger capsuls = NO sickness!
The day was somewhat cloudy which was good - not too hot. Soon we saw whales on the left .. whales on the right! Whales that performed for us. Swimming, diving, coming staight nose up!
Definately glad I went and would encourage everyone to go with the Dolphin Fleet!

Tried this company for the first time because I purchased two Groupons. It was a cloudy day but turned out to be very enjoyable. Helpful and informative staff. We saw six whales, minke and humpback. We parked for $20. Right on the pier....stayed a total of five hours. P'town is always a hoot! We would use this company again, it is cheaper and kids under 5 are free. Call 1-800-225-4000 for rates and reservations.

The boat we went on was a Capt Johns boat. It left from the end of Fishermans pier on the right of the parking lot. We saw about 5 or 6 whales, a few came straight up right in front of the boat. The young girls who did the explanations were extremely enthusiastic and informative. Although the captain said it was time to go twice, the girls were banging on the window and he stayed about 10 minutes extra because the whales were right by the boat.
We went out of Provincetown although Barnstable was closer to where we were staying because the ride out to Stellwagon bank was much quicker out of P-Town plus we got to see a little of P-Town which is always a colorful place. We found public parking a short walk from the wharf where it cost us $10 for the 4-5 hours we needed instead of the $20 one price fits all at the pier. There were $3 off coupons in the Cape Cod best read guide.

Seeing a whale in the wild was one of the most amazing experiences -- our Captain knew what he was doing and the young guides were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable!!!!! I loved, LOVED, loved the experience! And this company is a few dollars cheaper than their competition. I highly recommend this excursion!

Do this at least once in a lifetime! Do more if you can.

The Dolphin ship that we went out with had an excellent guide, a marine biologist. She apparently loved her job. She was very informative. We saw minke whales this time and each time, they are spectacular! Just don't forget the sunscreen! Truly! You don't feel getting burnt because of the nice breeze but you realize it in the evening... Hat and sunscreen. Absolute essentials...
