“Great Kale Soup”
Reviewed May 5, 2012

Tip for Tops'n is one place that is off the beaten tourist track of Provincetown. It is more a part of the old Portuguese fishing tradition that is a big part of old Provincetown.
The restaurant is cute. It's full of old fishing items and big fish hang on the walls. It is very local and very old New England.
The waitresses all are locals and it is kind of like your mom serving you lunch!
The food is okay, it's pretty much your local diner sandwiches and burgers. We usually have lunch here once or twice each summer and the food is very typcial of American diner. It's not wonderful, but it will fill you and does the trick.
The one thing that I always get and that really love here is the kale soup. This is a local tradition and this version is amazing. It's local and homemade. You won't complain about the rest of the meal (but neither will you remember it), but you will remember the delicious kale soup!

“What's not to love .... ?”
Reviewed October 31, 2011

Knotty pine walls with mounted stuffed giant fish and you're right back in Cape Cod circa 1960.
The staff are all local ladies who are nice and friendly and keep your water and coffee filled throughout your visit.
The food is good diner style breakfast and the eggs, bacon, omelettes, pancakes, etc arrive without much wait and are always cooked just like you asked for.
The hostess ( and I think owner ) is an character and really is quite sweet once you get her to smile ......

“Basic, all-American Diner”
Reviewed October 12, 2011

Tips is the basic, all-american diner offering typical diner fare. Ate breakfast here twice with my other half. Don't expect gourmet or fancy. But the omelets are fresh, light and fluffy. Homefries are good. Service was OK. I have no complaints. A plus was they had plenty of parking which was convenient after we checked out of our inn. It was very affordable. An omelet runs about $7 whereas in other establishments, I find it's double in Ptown.
