Description: Central House at the Crown We believe good farming is worthwhile, and that it makes better food. We buy from small farmers who raise their animals outdoors, in grass and trees - not on corn and hormones. We buy heritage breeds that Americans have conserved for generations. Our seafood comes directly from New England waters. Our vegetables are as local as the season permits and we buy organic whenever possible. We seek out food that supports our values, and we think you will notice the difference. Please join us, and enjoy some truly good food.

Fish and chips on Friday night for $15. Not only was it $15, but it was ALL YOU CAN EAT fish and chips for $15. The fish was delicate and tender with a mouth watering batter that was light and not overpowering. The fries were crisp and seasoned to perfection. There were show tunes being sung at the piano and the cheese plates were pretty remarkable. You can choose one cheese for $5 or three cheeses for $15. We were so happy to find this place after leaving the Squealing Pig. We felt the Pig place was way overpriced. The Crown and Anchor made up for our earlier disappointment with ALL YOU CAN EAT FISH AND CHIPS for $15. I also had a splendid extra dirty martini! Lovely night. In fact, we even ran into our hosts from the guesthouse we were staying at at the Crown and Anchor. The place is really nice and if you find the right deals on the menu, a great place for dinner! I will say it could have been costly here, but the deals saved it and us from a gloomy Friday filled with rain and few quality food options pre-season!

“Home away from home away from home.”

Been there a million times since early 1980's. This complex is a modern replica of the original which burned to the ground in 1999. Very nice and very functional but it needs a spit shine.

This is a great place for dinner and entertainment as there is always some type of event happening here. It is a lot of fun at night for drinks and dancing as well

“Food was great!”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Friday night fish fry was amazingly light and fresh! I'm not usually a fan of fried foods but this was so light that it was floating! Others in our group raved about the lobster, mac and cheese! The Codd also got rave reviews. We topped it off with a chocolate martini for desert.

“A great getaway”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

I booked a room for my son's babysitter at Crown & Anchor for my sister's wedding in early November. Little Ricky was a complete joy to work with and the room and location were top-notch!
