When we booked our reservations for the Dune Tours, we weren't sure what to expect. What fun to discover a whole different world in the dunes. The beauty of the ocean, the dunes, and the foliage was amazing. The history, wildlife, and landscape was incredible, and the driver was a woman that had a wonderful sense of humor and knew her stuff. I was sad when it was over. I would highly recommend this tour.

Unless you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle and buy a permit, you won't see the sights you can see on this tour. Make sure you pick a clear day to go out there. It is magnificent ...the dunes, the foliage ..and that ocean! Very "other-wordly." You can hike into the dunes via Snail Road, however, found that out on the tour. Hiking on sand can be a little hard though. The tour guide was great, and we wound up down on Race Point Beach. Spectacular!

If you're interested in this part of Cape Cod history and geography, the dune tour is the most extensive way to see it. The only other option is to hike in, walking miles in the sand. That said, the 45 minute ride through the dunes was narrated by an informative driver/guide. She talked about the landscape, wildlife, and dune shacks. My favorite part was when we stopped and got out for a few minutes to look around and take pictures. I was only sorry that we never got to see the ocean because of the high tide. You might want to time your tour for when it's possible to have an ocean vista.

I spent just a day and a half in Provincetown over memorial day weekend with my fiancé, and this tour was without a doubt the highlight. I'm not sure where to begin, even. We showed up a few minutes early and met our guide, Rob, who happens to be Art's son. He told us we'd be picking up another couple and dropping them off at a dune shack where they were staying for a few days. He asked if we'd mind making the pit stop, which we didn't, because we were excited at this bonus addition to the tour. (Visiting the dune shacks isn't normally included). After collecting the couple, Rob drove us to the dunes and talked a bit about the history of the Cape Cod National Sea Shore and the dune shacks. He's not only incredibly knowledgeable, having grown up in the area, but he's also an amazing story teller. He even showed us old photographs of places we drove by, which was so neat to see. When we arrived at the dune shack, we were invited to come inside and see the living space. We just loved getting to step inside of a place that so few people are able to experience. It was truly special. After we left the dune shack, Rob drove us down to the ocean. He stopped often to let us take pictures, which we really appreciated. Even though the tour was supposed to last just an hour, we returned almost two hours later. We felt like we really lucked out having our own private tour with such a wonderful guide. Next time, we'll definitely do the sunset tour with a clambake on the beach. It sounds amazing from what we've heard. Thanks for such a memorable day, Rob! If you're visiting P-Town, even for just a day, you'd be foolish not to take a dune tour with Art's. There's a reason it's the highest rated activity in P-Town.

We took a dune tour as part of our package with our Collette Vacation Tour group. It was a highlight of our trip and we really enjoyed the ride and the history of the dunes in Provncetown. Our guide, Rob Papa, was informative and caring. He made sure that our group was comfortable and happy. We had never been on a tour like this and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I left my glass case with two pairs of glasses in the back of his vehicle. When I discovered it and called him, he told me that he was putting them in the mail to me that day.

We highly recommend taking this tour when visiting Provincetown, especially with Art's Tours. It was really a great and fun experience!
