My first time going to P-town, and I found this quaint Inn right on the Strip. It's in the perfect location. My room was closer to the back so I could have my quiet time when necessary. John was wonderful he met me at the ferry and lugged my bag to my room.

They also hosted a wonderful meet and greet, the Chef is absolutely FAB.

The entire staff was wonderful on a scale of 1-10 I give them 100. I think if you come in after a certain time you have to use the stairs.

This is the only place I would stay

We came in on the ferry from Boston and we were soooo happy when we reached the sage inn as it was such a short walk and is located in the middle of the main strip yet set off the road a bit. The building is very pretty and it has a wonderful outside sitting area where you can drink your coffee in the morning. The lounge is very pretty we later wished we ate dinner there but we got sucked into another place during out walk that night. Rooms decorated nice and very clean. Highly recommend the Sage Inn. The general manager was awesome! She took time to answer questions and was very friendly and went out of her way to hold our luggage the next day after check out because our ferry was that evening. Excellent experience and a fair price.

The staff was extremely friendly. Room was big and confortable. Like everything else in provincetown, the room was expensive. The Ac unit made a lot of noise too.

But they propose a complementary breakfast and they have beach towels and chairs for 2$ a day which is nice. I regret their was no pool. A good value for money given the very central location though.

The Sage Inn is the perfect place for a weekend away.

The rooms are bright, comfortable, and above average for Provincetown. Everyone who works at the hotel and at the lounge downstairs was friendly, helpful, and kept the puppy treats coming, as our son would tell you if he could. The location couldn't be better, you can enter the Inn on Commercial St. but you're still not ON it which makes for a quieter, more laid back atmosphere.

The price is also pretty standard, but I'd like to suggest to the Sage that for $250 a night, they might want to provide a more enticing breakfast. Bagels and fruit are okay for morning #1, but the restaurants in any direction on commercial are far better options for morning #2 and #3. Another hint would be to invest in better T.P. for the W.C. It's the little things, right? But their guests' bums will appreciate it.

The lounge is a great, more upscale way to spend the first part of the evening but stick to basics for cocktails as the Sage has a few overwrought choices that don't impress. A vodka special said to be an exciting presentation was not tasty, and a cocktail onion speared by a long chive, a submerged olive, and an herb oil float made for more of a drunken salad than a beverage.
The yellow tomato flatbread was absolutely delicious, with salty fresh mozzarella and yeasty dough. I'd go to the lounge just for that dish.

Overall, the Sage Inn has a lot going for it, and it'll be high on our list for our next trip to Ptown. Thanks, Sage!

We had rented a house for a week stay in Provincetown. Since the weather was so great, we decided last minute to extend our stay over the following weekend. We wound up staying at the Sage Inn for 2 nights based on last minute availability.

The room was bright and clean complete with a refrigerator and a small table with two chairs. The staff were friendly and helpful both at check-in and throughout our stay. There was no parking available on Saturday when we checked in (they have limited parking, so reserve when you book). However, they were able to find parking for us on Sunday night once a number of guests had checked out in the morning. The continental breakfast consisted of fresh fruit and bagels along with coffee and juice down in the lounge.

The lounge area is fully renovated with almost no trace of it's former incarnation as the Vixen. We had run into some friends on the street and wound up chatting outside lounge since they had wanted to see the renovations. The hostess ushered us for cocktails at the bar. The cocktails were outstanding as was the service from the bartender. The kitchen was closed so we were unable to sample the food but we will definitely check out the food next time we are in town.

Overall, we really enjoyed out stay at Sage Inn and would definitely stay there again.

Very commendable. Recommend to all, with special note as a friendly respite for travelers with a dog.

Right off the center of the main beach-town drag, Commercial Street, our Dog (name changed for privacy) and we exited our car parked easily and conveniently in a pre-reserved parking space in Sage Inn’s driveway. Dog led us marching in the double doors to the inn’s reception. A tall, slim woman behind the counter smiled widely, announcing, “Dog, welcome!” From around the counter she approached and (with quick assent from me) offered him an organic bone marrow dog treat…. Upstairs, in our room -- bright, cute, and warm (to the eyes, the a/c was cool) -- in a double dog bowl thoughtfully pre-provided by the inn, Dog ate lunch… Later, back in the room, exhausted, Dog crawled under the bed to nap (which to my delighted glimpse was clean as too often under hotel beds isn’t). The bed was a queen bed with high mattress topped with white comforter, with a beige bed skirt that draped to the floor, and most comfortable for my nap, delightful to find a good bed in a smaller inn… After late dinner, as we turned to stroll up the brick walk to the inn, between storefronts, Dog pulled forward and led knowing the way to the night’s home to which he’d taken a liking. In the Sage Inn double doors, he pulled to the stairs, which he clearly enjoyed running up and down in preference to the efficient elevator, and up the zig-zag split-level staircase up to the second floor he sprinted to the room… early we were the first at the breakfast buffet to gather juice, coffee, fruit, cold melon soup (refreshing, elative), and toasted bread for butter and fresh fruit preserves. As I plated food, a small woof, just one, sounded across the lounge. Even before I could return to Dog sitting at the table we’d selected, a tall, slim lady from behind the reception desk quick-walked to Dog and said warmly hello. She introduced herself to Dog and us, and he liked her indeed… that Dog, a not-easy judge of character, quickly cottoned to all Sage Inn staff is highest praise to genuineness of friendly service. She too has a dog, the Sage Inn staffer said, just a little smaller than Dog, and recommended an excellent beach on which Dog could run that morning. All in all, a very commendable inn in Provincetown, with warmest hospitality for a dogged traveler, and most certainly recommended for the undogged too.

Room Tip: A subset of rooms permits dogs, so book ahead for that. Also, if driving, pre-book a reserved parkin...
