We stayed here fo a long weekend because pretty much everywhere else had a 1-week minimum stay. The rooms were average size and comfortable, but pretty standard. Our room had a mini-fridge, a small deck overlooking the harbor, and A/C. The breakfast consists of yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, tea, muffins, and other pastries and is served until 11am which is nice for late-nighters.

We faced away from the deck where the popular tea dance is held everyday from 4-7pm, which means you have to vacate lounge chairs by the pool around 3:45pm. Don't expect to nap during that time, but when it's over, the place is pretty quiet. There's the Buoy Bar in the lobby that stays open until 1am, but it wasn't ever very crowded.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on busy Commercial Street and you can walk anywhere in town pretty quickly.

We stayed here Thursday-Monday, July 11-15, 2013. In all honesty we were expecting an average resort, but this place blew our minds! The room was huge, newly updated, and CLEAN, and the staff was professional, welcoming, and made us feel at home. At the same time the breakfasts, tea dances, pool chairs and towels are included with the price of the room, which in itself was extremely reasonable for this time of the year. The location is perfect and centralized, and they even have RARE underground parking spots onsite. Daniel was very welcoming at check-in, and we loved Janet. We considered staying an extra night, and Janet found us a room for that night if needed. We have stayed at quite a few Ptown hotels and resorts, and from now on the Boatslip will be our only choice. LOVED IT!

This was my first trip to Ptown and it was incredibly memorable!!! Boatslip was a big part of that! I write this review with 11 years of hospitality experience in upscale lodging in Baltimore and DC.

I’ll start with the areas for improvement ---

Room towels aren’t the softest - invest in new ones?

Bath mat / rug had a big stain on it of something purple

Continental breakfast was the same each day and they may want to add fresh fruit and cereal / milk.

In room safes are a must. None at Boatslip

Bedspreads and hotel carpeting are outdated

Sheets were comfy but had piling of the fabric

Walls are thin! And people even walking below us caused the room to shake. At 1am on our
1st night the FD staff WAS very responsive in calling the room below us with the noise complaint and that was appreciated.

Cash only at the bars - even with plentiful ATM’s it’s frustrating for those of us that don’t carry cash much anymore. Secure smartphone apps exist that could be used for tab tracking.

Signage at the front desk - we didn’t know that yoga was offered! The sign is way off on the left side of the front desk somewhat obscured when you checked in by flowers and a digital picture frame.

More info on what to do and what’s available on property (chair policy, towels, ice machine, restrooms near pool so we don’t have to go back to our rooms, cash only at bars <we would have brought more if we had known>, etc.) for first timers would be helpful. If it’s there now we didn’t noticed and the FD staff may want to ask.

Morning breakfast staff that just stands there and stares at you while you eat. They definitely were on top of things with refills but they shouldn't stand right there near the food just stating.

Do not disturb sign was missing but replaced when asked

Light in the bathroom is filled with some dirt or something and quite dated looking in addition to not being very bright.

Areas to champion:

Perfect check-in process!
Friendly staff everywhere!

Our room was very clean - tops of picture frames, line, bathroom floors, shelves, etc.

Location, location, location - you can’t beat it!! The views from the 2nd floor of the bay are amazing!

Tea Dances are excellent - music, enough bars, fun!

Room decks are very well kept and look new

Other that mentioned above about carpet and the bedspread the rooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable

Plenty of hanging space and drawers for clothing

Refrigerator is nice to have

LCD Televisions are bright and offer a good selection of channels

Heating / AC / Ceiling fan worked great!

High ceilings are nice and add a lot to the room
renovated bathrooms are very nice and especially clean

Hallways are unique with the ship's lamp

Pool deck, chairs, towels were all very nice and the pool itself was the perfect temperature and very clean.

I give 4 stars and not 5 because all the negative things are more cosmetic than anything and are somewhat inconsequential to the big picture of our stay. If you want a bit more luxury in your stay than you do have other options. If you want the view, the famous T-Dances and a nice place to stay than the Boatslip is the place!! I’d stay here again for sure!

We had overall, a great stay at the Boatslip in Provincetown. The room was clean and bright and we faced the ocean as promised. The breakfast is terrific, real variety and included with the cost of the room. The staff really make the place work, they work hard, they are friendly and nice and helpful. If only they had told us the pool was going to be closed all week during our stay. We picked the hotel for two reasons, it has a heated outdoor pool AND the hotel is located right on the water and is central to everything you could possibly want in a P-town hotel. Stay at this hotel by all means but ask if the amenities are available for your visit, I don't think they will volunteer this information.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money and book an ocean view room, it is totally worth it.

We had an unscheduled break in the concrete surround which we called in special pool techs to recast and pour new pool cement into broken area. To guarantee their work, we had to guarentee no use for 3 days. May I extend a personal invitation to come back any time this year and enjoy our pool, lounge chair, have our grill person serve you lunch and one of our 18 bartenders make you some of your favorite cocktail to enjoy on our deck? Please ask for me so I may know that you have been able to enjoy what you expected on your prior visit. Thank you, Marion

It's a lot of fun. A great location. Nothing luxurious but that's not why I'm here. Affordable, clean and redone rooms... and a great view. Not the place to come to relax necessarily as there is tea dance that is loud from 4-7 but if you need a fun get away - this is a great place to stay. Seriously beautiful surroundings. And peaceful out on the balcony at night. I recommend it.

I have stayed at the Boatslip since the 1980's and compared with the refurbished and stylish boutique guesthouses that have developed since then, it simply has'nt kept pace. The breakfast has to be the poorest in the town and we always ended up going elsewhere for the really wonderful food the USA has to offer. The bedrooms are however of a good size and the sea view ones have wonderful aspects. The tea dance in the afternoons still boogies on but early season is deserted. The deck and cocktails available while sunbathing are to die for but you do get turfed out early to make way for tea dance!

I was saddened to see your opinion of the resort. Since we didn't open until May 4th this year, after many upgrades including all new baths, we hope you will stop by to give us a thumbs up on improving your vacation time with us. Even if you're not staying with us, stop by and any one of our staff will proudly show you our new rooms. Thank you for you again, we hope we meet your standards this year. Marion
