“A great find for treasure seekers and tourists alike!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

This was my first time on Cape Cod and this museum was the most impressive museum on the Cape. Did you know that National Geographic did an entire special on Barry Clifford's nautical findings of the only recovered Pirate Ship in history? What's even better: Did you know that the treasure of the only recovered Pirate Ship is on display at this museum? The Whydah ship (pronounce "wi-daw") has a romantic story behind the life of the sailor Sam Bellamy who choose piracy for a profession and the woman that he met in Cape Cod and was on his way back home to when disaster struck. This museum has so many actual historical pieces recovered from the shipwrecked Whydah and from the local region that you will get a real education for such a modest fee. The proceeds of the admissions strictly go into exploration and restoration of this vessel. This was a great museum for all ages and all budgets. Truly memorable!

“Unique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

I liked the information that I got about the Whydah and it's background. Saw a number of artefacts salvaged from the sea. The entire salvage story is narrated as also a short film on the National Geographic is on loop. It was a very different and unique experience for my holiday

“A must for lovers of maritime folklore - great for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

It tells many aspects of treasure exploration, and some of the broader story of trade and the settlement of the Americas. Lots of related items for kids and for adults are available in the well stocked gift shop. A great pick for a rainy day.

This was a great activity for a non beach day! The pirate museum boasts booty from the only true pirate ship ever found. It was definitely interesting!

This is a private money making venture by a treasure hunter. Gift shop is filled with crap made in China.
