This was our first time staying at the Surfside, and I hope it won't be the last! As other reviewers have said, I would recommend the water-view rooms, both for the view and the sound of the surf outside your door, and the waterfront building has an elevator (the building on the other side does not). The hotel's breakfast was nothing fancy, but absolutely fine, and it was nice to have this option on-site vs going out for breakfast every day. Walking into town for dinner or shopping was fun, and a relaxing way to see the local area without the hassle of finding parking for the car. All staff that we encountered at the hotel were friendly, available and helpful (I didn't catch everyone's name, but Elaine and Kevin at the front desk were great, as was the man who sets up the breakfast, and Winston, the handyman who seemed to work 24/7 while we were there, keeping the outdoor areas clean and running smoothly). We also appreciate that the Surfside is pet friendly -- our dog loved checking out the beach, as did many of the other canine guests! On the topic of dogs, while the hotel is very clear that all pets must be leashed while on the hotel property (for safety as well as hygienic reasons), but not everyone adhered to this. We witnessed one unleashed dog running away from his people and their 2nd unleashed "brother" dog, as he scampered into two different rooms that had their patio doors open. The guests in those rooms were quite surprised, and fortunately there were no issues among the dogs in those rooms, but the runaway dog's owner seemed oblivious to the leash policy...
Overall, we had a great time, and can't wait to return!

We are the ones who are happy that you found us and want to return to the Surfside and our wonderful town. I am glad you enjoyed your time with us and were happy with our employees and enjoyed our newly remodeled rooms. Although we try to make pet owners aware of our rules and the town rules in Provincetown, sometimes they have ideas of their own regarding the pets, this is why we have all pet owners sign the pet policy on check in so they are aware of not only regulations regarding pets here at the Surfside but also the town. We hope to see you soon, if not this season in the 2013 season.

We stayed for four nights in a King Bed over Labor Day Weekend which was great.
the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was great, the pool was big and deep and clean, everything was great except one thing. In the morning we found it a little too noisy. It seemed like the cleaners in the hall and other rooms were a little too loud and banged quite a bit. This wouldn't put me off staying again though because everything else was brilliant.

stayed at the surfside hotel in auguest of 2012 for one full week. was the best time. Hotel was clean, comfortable, staff made us feel at home and talked to us every chance they got and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Hotel is on the main road and easy to find and a nice walk to center of town. parked the car at the hotel and only used it once during the week stay due to rain. will stay at this hotel again in the near future.

Room Tip: street view room with balcony no elevator so second floor is best. beach side suites do have elevato...

I stayed here over labor day weekend for my bachelorette party. We had 17 girls and this place worked out so perfect because it was right on the beach and most of the rooms had balconies overlooking the beach area where we were hanging out. The water is okay - not as pristine as many Cape Cod beaches - but for a large group it is perfect for sitting beach side rather than having to coordinate so many people for a nice beach. We rented the Harbor View suite so that we could have a "common" hangout room for all the girls and that worked out perfect. There was a kitchen with a refrigerator and counter space which connected directly to the living room and balcony overlooking the water. We were pretty loud at night and no one ever came to complain or bother us (there were no other rooms on either side of us which was nice too). There is breakfast, an outside seating area, a nice pool, the beach had lounge chairs, overall just a great place so close to Provincetown. I would definitely stay here again!!

Room Tip: Room with a view are good...we got the Harbor View One Bed Apt which was great for a larger group!

It was a pleasure having your group stay with us during your Bachelorette Party, it seemed as though everyone had a great time. Our beach is on the bay not on the Atlantic side which is why the water is not the same as some other beaches on the Cape, although it is fine for swimming if your looking for waves Race Point and Herring Cove beaches are not far away. No guests complained of the noise from your waterfront suite, so things could not have been too bad :) The Harbor View Suite just remodeled two years ago, wonderful for a large group and a family. We hope many of your guests will stay with us again in the future. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I have been going to P-Town ever since I was 16 years old with my parents and we stayed at the Surfside way back then (1966). When I got married I introduced my husband to P-Town and the Surfside Hotel & Suites. We now go every year on the Labor Day weekend. It is a vacation I look forward to. The Surfside gets better and better. We have always been comfortable there, they serve a nice continental breakfast, you have the beach side and the pool side to relax, swim and get your suntan. The rooms were redone and look great. We park our car when we arrive and only get in it to leave. We walk into town for dinner. I think the staff is very accomodating and I do go back every year and ask for the same room. I am a creature of habit. Needless to say if I had a bad experience I would not keep going back as such I have nothing to complain about. Great place to stay in P-Town.

We stayed 3 nights and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of this motel. Beautiful courtyard with a fire pit in the evenings, and a decent breakfast in the morning. The pool was clean with plenty of sunbeds for the guests.

We are a family of three. Our daughter is 8. We had a perfect stay. This is a kids' paradise with the heated pool and beach! We had a room with two double beds. The bathroom was average size, but completely renovated, so it was awesome! We stayed in the building just across the street from the beach, nice and easy.

The breakfasts were good -- make your own waffles every day, eggs some days, sausages most days, fruit, yogurt, all good! The best thing was that we got to bring our dog and dogs are allowed on the beach! We found all the staff, from front desk to grounds crew to be extremely helpful and friendly. We really felt at home and welcome. And like everyone else, we thoroughly enjoyed the updated patio area and fire pit!

It's a decent walk into town, or you can take a pedicab, which is so fun. The East Side Market has GREAT sandwiches, muffins, etc. We will definitely be back!!

Room Tip: Although we were not facing the ocean, we faced town, it was still wonderful. And we were on the 3rd...

Thank you for your review. The staff at the Surfside takes great pride in making our guests feel at home and welcomed, so they will be happy to read your review. Our pet friendly hotel, we love our pets, our private beach makes it enjoyable for them to take an afternoon swim and then a quick rinse in our pet shower before taking a walk in Pet Friendly Provincetown. Our guests have certainly enjoyed our new upgrade including our fire pit where so many get together in the evening and the patio area where you can sit and enjoy breakfast on those wonderful sunny ptown mornings and have a view of the bay. We look forward to your next stay with us.
