Heard of Pepe's from a friend and happened upon it midway through a day of strolling and shopping in Provincetown. We were meeting people who were not yet in town and tried to get a reservation. Unfortunately, reservations are not accepted. Fortunately, the host was gracious enough to save us a table.

And, the table he saved was perfect - upstairs on the rail, overlooking the water - we couldn't have found a nicer place!

We just had a light lunch. Most of us just had soft drinks; but, I had a fantastic, spicy bloody mary, made perfectly.

Lobster bisque was magnificent with a gigantic full claw lurking in the depths! Two of the folks had lobster rolls, purported to be 5 ounces, very little mayonnaise and a hint of celery. Well, the description was apt in two of the three items; but, no way the lobster was 5 ounces - more like 7 or 8!

A scallop roll was presented well with three very large, juicy scallops and the fried scallop platter was even better - more, smaller scallops, perfectly breaded and fried.

This restaurant, alone, makes the trip to the tip of the Cape wholly worthwhile!

I have come here many times over the years and overlooked the terrible service and awful food because of location. However, this will be the last time. The staff are rude and after meeting the owner I can see why. She is mean and spiteful and that affects your staff. Sometimes it is just one bitter employee however this business clearly has a policy from the top down to get as much money out of a customer as possible while providing the minimum amount of service and quality. Oh, and leave the kiddies at home. The owner hates kids and you will get put on the bottom of the list in the hopes you decide to leave. No joke. Go across the street to the http://theseafoodgrille.com/. You won't be disappointed.

One must wonder if “the terrible food and terrible service” line is true since the author of this review claims to have been here many times. Who in their right mind would return to such an awful place? No one does that, view or no view. Moreover, neither the staff nor management had ever seen the writers of this review before the unfortunate evening in question. What happened, and what is conveniently left out of this “review,” is that the two women came to the restaurant with both a double-wide stroller and a bicycle and proceeded to park them directly in front of the host stand and the staircase, causing mayhem for the other customers. One of their two toddlers began digging in an ash tray disposal can, flinging cigarette buts all over the place while the other tossed around toothpicks and played with everything he could get his hands on that sits near the host stand. The “adults” did nothing to detour this behavior. They put their name in for seating and were told it would be, at minimum, half an hour. At this point they were asked to please move their bike and stroller to a more suitable area as to not further disrupt the other guests. Their attitude to the host was most abrupt and difficult, and as an added irritant, one of the two women placed one of the toddlers on the bicycle and began weaving it through the crowd of well behaved customers as if she were impersonating a carnival ride! At this point (the busiest part of one of our busiest nights in our busiest month) they were told that the wait would be more like an hour than a half hour. They then chose to leave; kids, bike, double wide stroller and all, and as they left they yelled to the owner that they “own a business in San Francisco and have never been treated as rudely as here.” To which the owner merely smiled and said, “Thank you very much.” To be quite blunt, the writers of this review were more than disruptive, totally un-cooperative to the civil seating process that the other 764 patrons we served that day found no trouble with, and indeed were aggressive to the point of being offensive. We do indeed hope that they stay away from our restaurant—at least until they can control their disruptive children and their own self-indulgent behavior.

Stop by Pepe's Wharf with my wife and two college sons for a drink and appetizers while shopping around Ptown. We had a great time, the food was awesome and the view couldn't be better. Tucked away down a narrow sidewalk on Main Street, this is a must see while visiting Ptown.

Went for an early dinner and was immediately and graciously seated exactly where I wanted with an outstanding view of the bay (downstairs, although upstairs is equally good). Kristine was fabulous--patient, helpful, attentive and fun. Chicken skewers were a very tasty appetizer and dinner was fine. Cesear salad was ok. Shrimp with it ok, too. Nothing inspired, but good tasty food. The view is the main course. And the service is the dessert.
