The new exterior restoration was beautiful done and it's great to hear the bell tolling the hours and half hours once again.
The restored staircase in the auditorium was part of a $6 million renovation project. Renovation of the 1886 building started in 2008.
The walls are painted Victorian-era colors based on a historical paint analysis.
The auditorium was previously used as a roller skating rink, a basketball court and a dance and wedding hall, as well as the home of annual town meetings. The chandelier (retractable to accommodate the performances held there) was designed by an architect based on old postcards and photographs of the original inside the auditorium.
This charming building is definitely worth a walk through.
