Our daughter and son-in-law chose the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum for their wedding reception in August 2013. The grounds were green and gorgeous - cocktail hour was on the lawns - guests played lawn games, and listened to Irish Music. The buffet reception was under a magnificent tent - the harbor views were breathtaking. Guests danced under the tent and under the stars with light ocean breezes. It was magnificent!

I visited Provincetown in July and was told you had to make the effort to climb the tower because it's such an outstanding view and I was NOT dissapointed!! It was awesome and the museum is very informative about the history of the tower and the town and the staff were very friendly people...Highly recommend this!

The Pilgrim monument is Provincetown's Space Needle. It's the easily recognized 252-foot symbol of PTown. We're so glad my husband and I made the effort to climb to the top of this iconic structure. The day we visited, it was actually snowing with fierce winds, so it was physically difficult to view out one side of the windows at the top. The windows are placed all around the crown, so there's a 360 degree view. We got some great photos.

The charming museum is fairly small, with some informative exhibits, including relics from an Artic expedition, brought back by Donald MacMillian, a native of Provincetown. Other pieces of local history, such as items from the Native American Wampanoag tribe and the maritime era are displayed.

This is a relatively easy climb as half of the upward process is ramps. There are good spots to stop and look out if you need a rest.. The views from the top are absolutely breath taking.
