We thoroughly enjoyed going to the top of the monument to experience the 360 degree vantage point!

Unlike most lighthouses I've been inside, there are a minimal number of steps at the beginning, the remainder is all inclines. We were hoping for a bit more of a leg workout!

What an interesting museum! We didn’t know until we planned this trip that the Pilgrims actually landed here before going on to Plymouth. The museum was bigger and more extensive than I anticipated. Very nicely done. We were only there for about 60 – 90 minutes, but needed more time if we were to do the museum thoroughly. The monument is obviously the highlight. It’s a good hike up, but not a steep climb – mostly ramps and low stairs. The views from the top are, of course, magnificent.

We have visited in past years --- but always enjoy the climb and the view at the top. The climb is easy on the knees as not all stairs ---- alternates with a "ramp" which is easier to navigate. This year we met groups of students on our way up and our way down. The students we were passing that were heading up were funny --- they were all out of breath and they had only completed about a 1/3 of the way up! The teachers should bring them here for gym on a weekly basis! LOL In addition to the "exercise" and great views --- a wonderful museum and interesting gift shop. Walking around the grounds is pleasant as well.

You won't want to miss this 160-step climb up the Provincetown Monument, especially if you have kids. The views are spectacular and the whole place is Grade-A for clean, well-maintained and interesting. The museum is not your average tourist shop posing as a museum. This is world-class stuff !! You will find the exhibits breathtaking and fascinating. This locale is not to be missed -- especially for families, although we saw quite a few couples enjoying themselves there too.
