“Worth the drive!!”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

We drove from Boston to see this monument. It is definitely worth the 2 hour drive! Climb to the top of the 250 foot tower and enjoy beautiful views of the cape and the town. Tour the museum and learn a bit about the adventures of the very first settlers that started this great country. It's great to visit the place where our country got it start. The drive was beautiful; the fall colors are just starting to turn.

We drove highway 6A on most of the cape. It takes longer, but it's great to see all the small towns and buildings.

“Majestic Granite Tower, great views of Cape Cod”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Climb to the top of the granite Provincetown Monument for some of the best views of Cape Cod. You can see Race Point Light, Highland Light and various other interesting Cape Cod attractions from the top. Before or after your climb, see the small but informative Provincetown museum about Cape Cod, whaling and the history of the local area. Parking lot fee is $5, but parking is free with receipt from the museum ($10/adult).

“Avoid the car park outside at all costs! It costs $10 just to drive through!”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

We came to Provincetown for a looksee and some lunch. We were somewhat short of time having to get back to Boston for flights in the evening and drove by the monument to see how long it would take, how much it would cost etc before we decided whether we had time to go up it.
When you drive up behind the monument, there is a seedy guy telling you to park there, you need to leave a $10 deposit, with two hours parking free. You get the $10 back when you return the ticket.
So we went into the museum/monument entrance to find out how long it would take/price and decided the climb up looked long (ramps not stairs) and the $10 each entrance fee a bit steep.
So we go back to the car park to get our $10 back and he tells us you ONLY GET THE $10 BACK WHEN YOU BUY MUSEUM TICKETS!!!!

He did not tell us this when we we parked and when you look closely, it is written in very small letters where you can not see it from in a car.
It seems the tourism operators of Provincetown are desperate to bilk people out of $10 dollars. Well you lost the $50 we would have spent on lunch and get a bad review to boot.

The view from the lighthouse about 10 miles back was excellent and the parking free and entrance only $4.

“Fantastic museum and climb up the monument!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

This was a very well stocked museum for a smallish town. We wanted to climb the monument and spent several minutes in the museum as well. Some of the answers to our geocache were in the museum. Learned about the area and then made the trek up the monument. Good into to our trip.

“A must”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

Climb to the top is not very hard and well worth the view. Taking pictures is difficult because windows are blocked Nice, smallish museum that doesn't take too much time to visit,
