Was pretty good when it was the Ming. Would have given it a good 4 rating but sold and now is run as SUN DYNASTY. Food tastes like it is soaked and marinated in butter. Chicken fingers are more dough than chicken. No longer our stop in Plymouth for Chinese food.

As a long-time Plymouth resident, i can only assume that the Ming Dynasty has survived on unsuspecting tourists and locals who care only about large portions of greasy, unimaginative food that too many restaurants pass off as Chinese cuisine. Oh, and the bar -- even the Ming can make a strong drink.

i recommend this restuarant if you like;
a) un seasoned food
b) soggy noodles
c) poor quality duck
d) raw vegetables in dishes (if you like carrots in food this is the place to eat?)

generally a very poor experience, however it did start well with satay chicken and pancake roll, but all main dishes were way below avaerage

Eating at Ming Dynasty is like entering a time warp. The food is typical of the run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurants of the 1950s and 1960s, which served up bland, boring, and badly prepared Cantonese food to a non-critical clientele in a faux-Oriental setting. How a place like this can even survive in the 21st century is beyond me. Even white-bread Americans have learned to enjoy and appreciate Hunan, Szechuan, and other more interesting variants of Chinese cuisine. One visit to Ming Dynasty will put one off all Chinese food for a long time to come.

I have tried this restaurant on numerous occasions and have never had a good meal. Locals eat here only because there's a lack of good Chinese restaurants in the area.
