Within walking distance of all the historical sites. The on-site restaurant, Hearth & Kettle, was delicious and you received a $10 per day coupon as a guest, toward lunch or dinner. We dined there both nights. The inn's rooms had traditional decor, were comfortable and clean. The indoor pool area had a pirate ship and tube slides for the kids, and hot tub for mom and dad. If you stay, be sure to do the historical walking tour across the street at the Jenny Grist Mill. It was fabulous! Plymouth Plantation was boring.

The people that work at the Hotel were very nice. The rooms are clean and a decent size.
The rooms smell musty, the bedding is horrible. The beds were so uncomfortable!
Sheets were pilling and the bedspread looked old and dated.
I spent 2 nights there and could not sleep due to the soft bed that sinks in the middle. Also the wall paper is peeling and there are many water stains on the ceiling.

the location was good, but I would give this place 2 stars

We stayed at the John Carver Inn last Thanksgiving because of the convenient location. We chose the John Carver last month, again because of the location; a member of our family was making her first trip to Plymouth. Last year we commented about the disrepair and the musty odors. Management may be addressing some of the issues because the smelly carpet in the elevator had been replaced with a hard surface.

Outside:
There was trash, cigarette remains, dirt and even a dead bird for days. It was obvious that the front drive, curb and sidewalk had not been cleaned prior to our arrival or during our stay.
The windows would have better showcased the beautiful chandelier had the windows been cleaned.
The planter was full of dead plants.

Now to the room:
Two drawers in the chest almost fell off their broken tracks onto my foot.
My cousin said that the chair in her room was about to lose an arm.
A smoker was somewhere on our non smoking floor for three of our six nights.
A wedding "party" partied and pounded on doors in the early morning hours, screaming that she did not care if she woke everyone!

The breakfasts were terrific, the staff was very friendly, the food vouchers would have been nice if we had been back to the hotel in time for the applicable lunch or dinner. The management took action with the reports of the wedding "party" and they were said to have been relocated to a lower floor.

The new ultra modern bar had just opened and in time for the wedding "party" and a class reunion during our stay, but it was a contrast to the unclean welcome outside.

For the price, we definitely feel as if we were entitled to expect more.

We needed to make reservations at a Plymouth, Mass. hotel to attend a funeral of a friend that was going to occur over an August weekend. On Tuesday, before the weekend, we called and the John Carver Inn found availability for us at their facility and also gave us a bereavement rate that helped immensely. Thanks again John Carver

We had a very friendly and informative welcome. Every time we spoke to the reception staff they were extremely helpful and informative. We had a large room with 2 double beds overlooking the car park so we could keep an eye on the hire car! Having said that it was not noisy. However, there were no duvets only a blanket and sheets which i dislike form a comfort and cleanliness point of view. The room was clean in all other aspects. There was a glass floor tile on the bathroom floor which both my husband and I mistook for something we had dropped for a split second! Qiute diconcerting especially in the middle of the night! We did not use the swimming pool as it seemed more of a kids' zone and too many rules!! Overall a good stay.

Room Tip: We had a room in the front which was convenient and not noisy although there was noise from the adja...

When my wife and were planning our family reunion we visited a number of locations in the Plymouth area before choosing the John Carver Inn. The sales manager, Jeff Hyde, was very helpful and willing to provide the little extras that are often the difference between an event and a hugely successful event.

During our three day stay at the John Carver Inn the entire staff of the hotel was at our disposal and available at all times to accommodate our needs and assure our event was a success. Everyone loved the buffet banquet and commented on how good the food was especially how moist and delicious the fish was.

There's so much to see and do in Plymouth and much of that is within walking distance of the John Carver Inn. If you're planning an event I would recommend you definitely consider this hotel.

As soon as i walked into the Inn, Karen was there to greet me. She is the kindest person that I interacted with during my stay. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. When I went to my room it was very nice and the bed was to comfortable i didn't wanna get up and go anywhere. The pillows on the bed felt like clouds, they were so nice. The sheets were so soft i was like almost sleeping on silk. The pool and the hot tub were so much fun and you can sit in there for hours on end. I am from the area so i knew how close the Inn was to the many fun attractions. One of the only down sides is that the room didn't have a refrigerator or microwave as well as a screen on the window. I would 100% recommend this Inn. I had a wonderful time.
