“Perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2012

Our stay at the Pilgrim Sands was perfect. The room was extremely large, clean and inviting. We had an oceanfront room with a spectacular sunrise and it was wonderful sitting out there first thing in the morning sipping our morning coffee and watching the sunrise. The location is centrally located to get to town, Cape Cod or to commute via train or drive to Boston. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms are spectacular. Right on the ocean.

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Pilgrim Sands Motel in Plymouth, MA. We had an ocean view room that was so close to the water we kept the windows opened (yes, the windows opened and had screens!) to hear the waves. It was very soothing. The rooms were very clean. The staff was friendly. The hot tub was hot. There was a wonderful Bluegrass band on Saturday night. The WiFi was hard to connect to at times, but otherwise everything was great. We will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: We had room 215 which had an ocean view. I liked being on the second floor and we were also right n...

We were a little uncertain about the Pilgrim Sands when we approached it as there was a large sign saying two lobster rolls and a bottle of wine for $39 and another large sign proclaiming beachfront accommodation, swimming pools. It looks like a motel and in fact that is just what it is, no pretension to be anything else. The welcome was warm, and the 24 hour coffee on tap was hot. The included breakfast of bagels, muffins and Danish and cereals was enough to set us up for the morning. The location is gorgeous , right on the beach with sunsets to die for. The two pools ( one inside with spa and one rather cooler outside) are clean, well equipped and a welcome soother after a hard days sightseeing. It is extremely handy for Cape Cod and Plimoth Plantation is just over the road. Both are worthy of your time.
The motel rooms are large, clean and have endless towels and a useful fridge. The bathrooms are large and the bath/shower is good. This is not the Ritz but you are not paying Ritz prices. The upper storey have balconies with chairs and the back rooms have sea views. The front ones overlook Plimoth Plantation but also the road. Route 3 is very close so there is some noise from that and the 3A outside, especially on Sunday nights when everyone is heading back to Boston. Try to get a sea view. That said, this is a great place to stay. The staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly and the two lobster rolls and the bottle of wine were terrific value and absolutely delicious! A great, unpretentious family run motel.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms have less road noise and a fantastic view. Upstairs rooms have balconies with chairs...

Rooms were clean but dated. Location is good... just a 5 minute ride to downtown. Internet was non-existent in my room. Sea side rooms have a great view but I had a view of the main road. Good experience. Good value.

Room Tip: If you want seaside... ask for it.

We have 5 children, and all of the staff were very accomodating, friendly and helpful. Yes, the rooms are dated, but they are large, comfortable and clean. It did not smell like mold or mildew, and my wife is very sensitive to smells. The place is off the beaten path a little but the views are fantastic! They have an indoor heated pool and hot tub, so the kids had a blast. Breakfast was small, but there are many places in town to get a big breakfast. I was able to sit out on the deck at night, enjoying the ocean breeze and strong wind. It was a post-card setting! The staff also helped us decide what would be good to do as well as what we should skip, based on our limited time (one day) in town. We will certainly be back the next time we go to Plymouth.

Room Tip: Ask the man at the desk if you could look at a couple of rooms and decide which to stay at. Our roo...

I stayed here with my husband and 1 year old, as well as several relatives from Quebec, this past summer. It has a fantastic location right on the ocean, as well as 2 pools (one indoor and one outdoor). It also has a huge deck, sitting area that looks right out over the ocean and is a great place to hang out (it also made it easy for us to hang out with the rest of our family while my daughter napped in our room). It is family run and the staff is wonderful and helpful. I've visited Plymouth hundreds of times to visit family and this is by far the best place to stay!

Room Tip: Definitely get a room overlooking the ocean!

Nice place, easily reachable by car, in front of Plymoth Plantation, important historical site. sea view toward the sea from two terraces (if your room is on the other side from which you can see a pond and many trees). Excellent restaurant adjacent at the North side of the Motel. Good breakfast which could be more varied for a motel so big!
