Description: "The CabbyShack, on historic Plymouth harbor, is the spot for gorgeous views, tons of seats under the sun, live music all season long, and seafood so fresh it practically jumps straight from the ocean to the kitchen. The basic boiled lobster weighs in at about a pound and a quarter. But those in the know ask for the super-sized three-and-a-half pound Big Man's Lobster. Equally eye-popping is the 'Big Shack' Roll. It's the biggest lobster roll in town, overflowing from a grilled buttered roll. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the CabbyShack sells thousands of them a week. It's the perfect summer meal, for the perfect summer day. The CabbyShack's menu is loaded with fun summer foods like hand battered onion rings, colossal shrimp cocktail, golden fried clams, and -- believe it or not -- some of the best bar pizzas on the South Shore. But the dish they're most famous for is their award winning clam chowder, served in a fresh baked bread bowl. Rich chowder, big lobster rolls, and fun all summer long, keeps everybody coming back, to the CabbyShack." - Phantom Gourmet

It was late. My boy wanted salmon. My wife wanted oysters. I wanted anything. The hotel manager suggested Cabby Shack. While it was a bit pricier than I was expecting, the food was great. Be sure to ask what the "market price" is before you order. The clam chowder is the best I've had. There was even a band on the outdoor deck.

Love this place for the 'beachy' feel - fun atmosphere, great chowdah and seafood.

Great to see that the young woman who does facepaining - PartyFaces - is back again. There is ALWAYS a line to be 'decorated' - and it's not always kids waiting! We love to sit outdoors if weather permits - close enough to be able to watch the expressions on kids faces when they see the completed painting. Great entertainment.

Very friendly staff - fun place to be in the summer. It is on our MUST VISIT list every year.

Very busy place in a great location, unfortunatley the seafood is just average and the service can be pretty slow at tmes. Go down the street to the Blue eyed crab, better food, better service.

You have to go try the chowder. SOOO GOOD! Featured on the Food Network. The atmosphere is nice. Large drink menu. Would be a nice place to stop at in the summer for drinks on the deck.

As a Bostonian and life-long New Englander, we take clam chowder seriously. By far, no doubt, this is the best clam chowder I have ever had. It's thick and full of clams and absolutely perfect, especially in one of their bread bowls. That is a full meal in itself. I typically get a cup, which comes in a coffee mug with a dab of butter on top for an appetizer, then order lobster or some other seafood as my entree'.

The atmosphere is nice, and it looks out over the bay in the heart of the touristy area of Plymouth. I bet it is fun for the bar scene at night, and seems to naturally be a local favorite, though I've only ever come here for lunch and early dinner. The staff is always nice, and I've never been there when I've had to wait for a table, though I imagine it gets busy. I heard a waitress tell another table the other day people wait 2+ hours in the summer to sit on the roof deck, which is probably worth it on a warm, summer night. I've sat there during the day and it's very nice.

The place is definitely recommended for people of all ages, tourists & locals alike, and you have an obligation to try the clam chowder, it's that good and you'll regret it if you don't (see pictures attached). As for everything else, it is a standard New England seafood menu, but I've never had a meal or experience here that wasn't top quality.
