“Monstrous lobsters”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

Come hungry, and I mean HUNGRY. You will be glad you did. They served the biggest lobsters I have seen.

“Bland, soggy seafood + super rude staff.”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

Bottom line: this place is awful. Their food, as stated in the title, is terribly bland, and soggy. Every time I have gone here, I have noticed the staff has been extremely rude to every customer, even those who treat them with kindness and respect. The ambiance is terrible, with cheap plastic deck furniture, and the dining area and bathrooms are usually quite messy and not well-stocked with condiments; we usually have to steal ketchup from another table. But, what can you really expect when you hire teenagers on their summer vacation and pay them minimum wage? The only thing good about this place is the ocean view from the dining room.

“keeping it simple”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

We visit Plymouth every pre-tourist season and head to Wood's Seafood on arrival day.
Nothing fancy here! A throwback to the old fish n chip shacks that were typical along the New England coast 50+ years ago. Back then, we'd pick up the order and sit and the car or on the sea wall looking at the boats not thinking too much about how great the food was. Food at Wood's is consistently good, and just what you'd hope to expect at a no-frills eatery that's serves lots and lots of fresh, seafood. We stay at the Best Western up the street and call in our order for the best fried clams and onion rings money can buy! We have eaten in the building but would prefer to do take away and watch the more of the harbor scene. There used to be a spot like this in New Bedford called Jerry's and it was fish wrapped in newspaper and chips in newspaper and the line went out the door. Great Stuff!

“Great food, no service, fantastic view, no atmosphere”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

Wood's Seafood is located on the Plymouth, MA waterfront with an ocean view and a view of the Mayflower. It is self service. You place your order at a window and pick it up when your number is called. There is no atmosphere whatsoever. But, beside the wonderful view, the food is great. The typical New England fried seafood is available as well as regional specialties such as quahogs. The clam chowder was wonderful, thick and full of potatoes and clams. The prices were reasonable and the portions healthy.
