“Reliably consistent”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2011

For many years this is my go to place in Plymouth for clients and out of town visitors. The menu has good choices for everyone, and the food is reliably consistent in its quality and presentation. The seafood is top quality and well prepared. I think the only thing the separates the East Bay Grill from restaurants in Boston is the quality of their other ingrediants. it is a very large restaurant and accomodates bus groups during tourist season. Surprisingly, the service and time waiting for your food is no different whether there are 50 people (in the dead of winter) or 500 people (in the middle of summer) seated. In the summer there is a very nice outdoor bar and seating area with palm trees brought in for the warm months. One can never go wrong choosing to eat here; it is not adventurous or unique either.

“huge portions and very good quality food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2011

Even the wine was generously poured. The lobster bisque was rich, the cup was oversized and the lobster in it was not disappointing. The salmon piece on the salad was moist, well grilled and too much to eat at one sitting. The Pork chop was moist and delicious and the sweet potatoe fries were some of the best I've tasted. The wedge salad could have fed the table of 4. The steak tips were full of flavor and enough to bring home leftovers. The staff was efficient and friendly from seating, to serving, to clearing and support and kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for the delicious foods .

“Classy joint with a great menu”

Make a reservation, otherwise you may not get in. Hard to go wrong here. Good food, beer, and wine menu with many varied selections. I had the lobster bake that I still talk about.

“Food just OK”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2011

A saturday night and we didnt have to wait?, although it was a nor' easter going on outside, inside the restaurant it was extrememly hot....i could hardly enjoy because I was overheating. the waitress was very distance and barely stopped by to check on us. Maybe because no one in our party ordered drinks?. I ordered the baked scallops, and they were Ok...price was $21 for baked scallops dinner. Whenmy freinds and I were done with dinner we went over to the bar area to listen to the music. the band was fine but because of the weather it was a very sparse crowd.

“Over rated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2011

I've been to East Bay several times. I used to like the food but it's become over rated and over priced. The outside bar in the summer is great if you can get a seat. It can get very crowded but worth it on a nice summer night. The inside bar is okay. Most of the bartenders are good there but I never seem to pay the same price for a drink. One bartender was so incredibly rude when I asked her how much a drink cost. She wouldn't wait on us after we asked. There is definitely a clique-y crowd that hangs there especially in the winter. It's okay. Nothing at all to rave about.
