“Wonderful Hosts, and the breakfasts were fabulous”
Reviewed September 26, 2007

My wife & I decided on spur of the moment to take a trip to Plymouth, Mass.

We looked up various B&B's in area, called up Thornton Adams, booked our room....

Lucky us!

Our Hostess Sandy made us feel like old friends, and our room and overall experience was very pleasant.

The breakfasts were delicious!! No need for us to look further whenever we return.... Pilgrims, your search is ended!

From the first moment on we knew that we found a home away from our home in the Netherlands. The warm reception by owner and host Sandy and her attention to detail made us feel very welcome. The house itself, with views on the ocean, has very nice and well maintained grounds. It is a little away from the main road which enhances the location. Our guest bedroom was individually styled and had a nice bathroom ensuite. The breakfast and livingroom is comfortable and cozy.
Then the breakfasts; everyday a new surprise with homemade cake, fruitcocktails, and delicious varieties of breakfast meals. Quite a treat that one will not find in a regular hotel. Sandy went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and provided us with good tips on what to see and do in the historic Plymouth and Cape Cod area. A five star B&B that we gladly recommend to other travelers.

The owner were so-o nice! We arrived late after a cross country flight. They immediately upgraded us to a room at the top of the stairs and VERY nice. The bed was comfortable, the room large (could be a bride's room if using this inn for wedding party). The breakfast was very good and the owners delightful conversationalists. They helped us with directions to the nearby Plimouth Plantation too. Lovely inn in a cute little town.

  • Liked — Beautiful room and good breakfast!
  • Disliked — Nothing- it was great!
  • Tips/Secrets — When visiting a B&B, take carry-on luggage if possible to avoid carrying heavy suitcases upstairs

After a couple of nights in substandard accomodation prior to arriving at the Thornton Adams we were holding out all hope that it would be wonderful and we certainly weren't dissapointed.

The house itself is located about 5 minutes drive from central Plymouth, on the road to Cape Cod, and about 5 minutes to the Plimoth Plantation. It boasts a beautiful garden and good views of the sea whilst the interior coudn't be more inviting. Ron and Sandy, our hosts, were warm and friendly, going out of their way to help us and make sure we had the best stay possible.

Our room, Erin's Boudoir, was beautifully decorated and lovely to spend time in so much so that when it rained we decided to just stay in the room and enjoy it!

We shall definitley be returning here the first chance we get.

We stayed in the largest room in this tastefully appointed bed & breakfast. The room featured a large jacuzzi bath which we very much enjoyed. Simple but elegant decorations with several real plants were in this room which has a nice view of the ocean. The back yard has a beautiful garden, and it is apparent that the owners really put a lot of work into this property.

Sandy and Ron take great effort to make sure their guests are comfortable and know which attractions and restaurants to visit during their stay. They personally greet you when you arrive and seem to enjoy having you stay. Sandy cooked a great breakfast and made sure there was plenty of coffee, tea, and orange juice. They are very personable and the room was clean, even to my girlfirend's standards.

We highly recommend this bed & breakfast.
