Sadly the Mayflower ship is out for renovations until 2020, the 400th anniversary of the 1620 voyage to America. I was really looking forward to getting to explore the ship and taking pictures of it. We bought a combination ticket of the plimoth plantation and the waterfront experience. They do still have a little area that you can go and explore where the mayflower ship is supposed to be, but I found it very small and not very fun. I with I wouldn't of spent money on the waterfront experience.

One of the reasons we stayed in Plymouth - it's out being refitted for the 400th anniversary in 2020. We travelled from the Midwest and because of our senior status will not be back this way. Not only this disappointment but we couldn't take a nice photo of the Plymouth Rock- work is going on there and a red garden hose is draped behind the rock and there are plywood sheets all around. Not what we had hoped to see on our one and only chance.

Do not plan your trip around seeing the Mayflower II. It's in Connecticut being refurbished. There are plenty of other things to do in Plymouth though. You can walk on the nearby jetty and pretend you see the Mayflower II coming over the horizon.

We really wanted to get on the ship. The plantation website offers a visit there . BUT once you get here you discover that it is gone for renovation until at least 2019.....
