“Great Entertainment, Decent Food”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

If you like food and a floor show, this is the place for you. Meals cooked hibachi style right at your table with friendly, skilled chefs. Food cooked to order and plentiful portions. Moderately expensive, but great for groups!

“Good given options available”
Reviewed January 26, 2014

Given the location its definitely the best option around for Japanese food. I haven't tried the sushi but the hibachi grill is typical fair. If you have been to a hibachi before, this isn't great, it isn't bad, just average. As far as other dishes, their entrees are pretty good, as is the soba noodle dishes. If you want more authentic dishes, I would recommend going into Cambridge and Porter square. If you are in Plymouth, there really isn't much to choose from (Sushi Joy is another). I've had their seafood udon noodle soup and again it was average, saving a long drive.

“We left after being ignored”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

We had reservations for 6 for a birthday dinner that the whole family (party of 7) had been eagerly waiting for, as we very rarely get to go out as a group. Well, we got there at 5:50, and atfer 20 minutes of waiting, two other large parties had been sat before us. If a manager had come over and explained "we're sorry, but we overbooked on reservations, it will just be a few more minutes", it would have been completely fine. However, we had to watch while at least 20 other people were sat before us. But, we were repeatedly told "just a minute!" by the hurried and rude staff and decided to just leave. If you're going to spend the kind of money that this place costs (not terrible, but at least $35/person), and make reservations, I expect far better service and communication.

“Been a handful of times...it's getting old.”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

This January marked our 5th time dining at Mew Tokyo. It's starting to get old. The same show, the same food and the LARGE bill at the end, only this time the food was just ok . It's a birthday tradition that brings us back, otherwise we'd find another place. If you've never been, go and experience New Tokyo. You will enjoy yourself, just have your wallet ready!

“Superb Japanese”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

This restaurant is a great example of the typical Japanese place done to a T. The sashimi tasted great and had freshness. The servers were quick, friendly, and thorough. My second time was on Tuesday (half price night), and the experience was equivalent of a meal that costs three times the price. Try the tuna, halibut, and steak. You'll be glad you did.
