“Little place HUGE flavor! BEST Burger”

Best charbroiled burgers ever! What a great find, has a long history. Comfortably casual. Dine in or order to go. Small place with great service and local friendly feeling.

“Perfect for Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, First Friday or Take-Away”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Call ahead and you will find something for the entire family here! Recently we had to run Mum up to BMC for some tests and they took a lot longer than anticipated so I hadn't had time to prepare lunch. Mark and his grill came to the rescue, I called ahead, ordered up one of their thick, real-meat burgers and fries, a pastrami Reuben and a Greek salad for the vegetarian in the family. It was all ready for Sis to pop in and pick it up. The pastrami was just the way I remembered it, thin sliced, tasty with that little bit of chewiness that says you are getting the real thing. The Reuben was beautifully cooked and very filling. I have to say that Mark & his staff give the deli a run for their money with the Reuben.

Mum enjoyed her burger, it was so hefty she couldn't finish it. I took a bite and it was cooked well - nice & moist - not dry but do remember to make sure you ask for lettuce, tomato, mayo etc. if you want that.

The Greek salad was a nice large portion of fresh ingredients (my sister shared her yellow peppers with me) served with the dressing on the side as it should be. The lunch was reasonably priced and ready to travel when we need it. I love getting take-out from here as the staff is nice and friendly.

Although I don't live in the Berkshires anymore I do try to pop in when I can. There is table service and there was a good crowd in on the First Friday in January when all the art studios were open. As to disabled access, there is certainly enough room for a wheelchair at a table but I forgot to check the lavs.

This is good American food at a price that won't break the bank. The restaurant has a great atmosphere without being cloyingly trendy.

“This is where the locals eat”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

Hamburgers! The best and cooked to order. We eat here twice a month and enjoy Mark's jazz recordings and food. Deb is friendly and efficient and makes sure our food arrives hot. Good fries, good cole slaw and worthwhile specials. There is parking in the back and in the lot across the street.

“No Frills - authentic”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

Lantern claims to have the best burger in the Berkshires.I don't know if that's true, but it is quite tasty. sandwiches and soups are also delicious. The star of the show is the hand squeezed fresh lemonade! Sometimes it takes a moment to be served as there is only one server. But the's so effiicient, you can't hold it against her.
