“Upscale Italian food in a great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

This is a wonderful choice for dining on the busy Rt7 corridor between Lenox and Pittsfield . They called to confirm our reservation and remembered that this would be pre theatre dining for us. As it was was a beautiful evening we opted to sit outdoors on their patio, but had to move inside when it became too windy. They handled the move very well, and the round table we were given was perfect for our party of six.
The staff, especially our waiter John was professional and attentive
The menu is varied and very fairly priced. There is an excellent wine menu as well, also fairly priced
Portions are large and can be shared . The food was excellent, and attractively plated The kitchen was very accommodating to one of our friends who has a very restricted salt diet. The special appetizer of the day "meatballs" was delicious,as was the special soup
The restaurant is large with a number of rooms and was quite busy, but we had no problem with the sound level. We never felt rushed, and we had a leisurely dinner but still got out in plenty of time to drive to theatre in Pittsfield.
We will definitely come back again,

“Good Food and Some Interesting Wine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2014

Pittsfield isn't for foodies, but this place brings the standard up several notches. Large portions, some inventive dishes, a winelist both simple and yet some things out of the ordinary (John Matta's Chianti in half-bottles), and a very pleasant diningroom. Waitstaff that knows their business. Not cheap, but very satisfying.

“A restaurant that would be good in any market”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

So, the bartender said, "Enjoy the rest of your evening." "Just for the information," I replied, "If I WERE to enjoy the rest of the evening, what would I be doing?" He didn't have an answer. I grew up in Pittsfield and it still has a "nothing happens here" feel to it. But really there is a lot happening her; the trouble is that it is happening in Williamstown, Lebonan, Lenox, and Stockbridge. It is nice to see that Pittsfield finally has a good restaurant. There's oil and vinegar for the bread, espresso for dessert, just like the rest of the good world. This seems to be a first class place. I want to come back.

“Don't order the baked stuffed sole”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2014

At other restaurants, the flesh of the sole is folded over, and crab and shrimp stuffing is stuffed inside. At Mazzeo's, a thin layer of fish is placed on top of a large slab of mostly bread stuffing.

Best part about this restaurant is the guy that sings happy birthday opera style. Seriously. That guy is amazing.
