“great weekend getaway”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

I booked a last-minute long weekend with my boyfriend at Church Farm. We wanted to stay somewhere with a country feel but still close to Bath, and Church Farm was perfect. The cottage was lovely and clean, and kitchen well-equiped so we could cook our own meals. There was lots of helpful information and tips so we were able to discover the local pub and did some lovely walks around the area. It was also really easy to get to Bath by car.
The pool and games room were an added bonus to help make the stay a little more special.
Highly recommend coming to stay here and would definitely come back again.

We had a lovely break at Church Farm, the cottage was lovely so clean, cosy , warm, Although near the main road this was not a problem gated garden and traffic noise was not an issue . the cottage had everything we needed and more. The welcome scones were a lovely extra, and farm shop offers. In the cottage the information pack for the surrounding area was very well done, enabling us to discover a lovely local pub, just accross the road through a housing estate.
The pool was lovely and very quiet, it was like owning your own pool!!! thoroughly enjoyed our break and the surrounding area was brill for walks - with our 3 little four legged friends, and bath was abs supberb and to enjoy bath Spa on my birthday was brill. A lovely holiday we will always remember. Already recommended these cottages to others. thank you. D J - S M and M

Just came back from a big family get together (21 of us in total) we booked the granary and 3 of the cottages. The accomodation was faultless.... clean and well equiped, there was nothing we needed that wasn't there even board games for a rainy day. The kids loved the pool and the games room and all appreciated that they couldn't use them at all times.
We all met at the granary in the evening which was a beautiful property a little far from the cottages but only a few minutes by car and if your fit enough a 20 min walk. The nearby farm shop and pub were both excellent.
A thouroughly enjoyable mid week break...bonuses being there at the right time of year to feed the lambs and the welcome cream tea.
well done church farm team.

Spotlessly clean and well equipped cottage. The cottage suited our needs as a family perfectly. The swimming pool and games room were great. The farm is located perfectly for exploring Bath and the surrounding areas. We also had a lovely day out at Longleat which is a short drive away. E would definitely recommend a stay here.

We stayed here Monday to Friday as a short break near bath for the Xmas market. A great clean small cottage awaited us "burys cottage" there is a swimming pool available but used through the day for lessons so don't expect to use it anytime. The local pub is 500 meters away and does a great meal but its not open all day!! There is a great farm shop near by and it does a good breakfast too! The bed was comfy and clean the area around the cottages was clean! We did have one bad night with trouble with a group of men we think but a written apology was given although it didn't cause us any bother, I suppose this could happen anywhere!! Overall lovely people and well organised cottages I would defiantly recommend.

Room Tip: Although we were in the end cottage it could be noisy at times but Burys cottage was lovely!

I have just got back from my daughters Hen party at Church Farm. We stayed in the large granary barn and one of the cottages and were really impressed with the standard of the accomodation. The facilites were excellent with everything you would need to self cater. The rooms were extremely clean and beds were comfortable with good quality bedding. The addition of another shower, which is at present being installed, will really help as 14 'hens' getting ready for a night out did streatch the two showers to their limits.
I was also extremely impressed with the help the staff gave us providing extra beds where needed and giving the impression that nothing was too much trouble to make our weekend a successful and enjoyable time.
The finishing touch to our perfect weekend was to open the curtains on the huge windows on Sunday morning to look out over the countryside coved in snow (not sure if this is always part of the service!!!)

I booked three cottages and the granary barn over the august bank holiday with a group of friends for a reunion from university. It suited our requirements as it could house both the families in the party (down at the cottages) and the couples and singles at the granary barn. Although it was a little less convenient to see each other than we hoped it was workable as we switched bases from the cottages (with swimming pool to entertain the kiddies) to the larger house for evening meals and games. Wifi was very helpful as the phone reception wasn't great for contacting each other.

The surrounding area was lovely, with not enough time in the weekend to explore as much as we'd have liked to. The houses were clean, light and nicely put together, the cream teas a nice touch. The granary barn was delightful with lovely rooms and garden which we would have utilised more with nicer weather. Plenty of room to park a few vehicles and good recycling facilities down at the cottages. Oh, and the farm shop down the road - lovely! We got meat and salad when we got there which was fab. Cheers

Thank you for your positive review. We are delighted you had a good time and made use of the various facilities available. The farm shop is always very popular here. Yes, the Old Granary is 3/4 mile up the lane from the farm but then you have the advantage of having a lovely secluded rural escape in a beautiful property! Glad you made it work for you.

Many thanks,
Tim
