“Superb country house hotel”
Reviewed September 30, 2013 via mobile

Stayed there last week on business and just wished had found it before . Apparently privately owned and dates back to Doomsday book ! Very quiet albeit tricky to find but very close to A19 and A1 and just 20 minutes into Doncaster .
Room was tidy and good quality bathroom , free wifi throughout and helpful staff . Food was good and not mega expensive . Had the pleasure of playing their 18 hole golf course which is excellently maintained and in the late Autumn Yorkshire sunshine idyllic .
Peaceful nights sleep and excellent breakfast buffet so somewhat sorry to leave . Would certainly recommend .
Stayed in the coach house and there are more up market rooms in main building

Stayed for one night as a little weekend break. Stayed in one of the Executive Bedrooms which was very tastefully decorated with lots of space, Only downside was the heat of the room through out the night as the Aircon did not seem to work. The grounds of the hotel made for a lovely setting and the food was outstanding and well priced. The Bar had a good selection of drinks and most of the staff seemed friendly and happy to help. Would defiantly recommend this hotel and I will consider returning the future.

I organised a company event with Owston Hall in September 2013. All of our 30 delegates were very pleased with the hotel food, facilities and accommodation.
With regards to costs they were very reasonable for a business event.
In my experience pof organising corporate events over the last twenty years, Owston Hall comes out on top when it comes to value for money, flexibility and friendliness of staff.
Hayley my Functions contact was a veritable superstar and made my job easy and the event, which involved two coach transfers, seamlessly efficient.

Invited by friends for a Sunday evening meal with my wife. Beautiful setting overlooking gardens and golf course. No welcome whatsoever from Reception staff, despite the fact that we were first-timers and were looking for the restaurant. Quick drink in the bar where we were presented with tired menus which looked much the same as the Sample Menu on the hotel's website. Cod loin and the Brie were not available; pity, as the Cod had been my choice from the Sample Menu prior to setting out. Taken to and seated at a table near the restaurant entrance within 5 minutes - much too quickly. A 30 minute wait for food which, when it came, was very average. Sweets served with no spoons. Coffees much more professionally dealt with. Bill, when asked for, included more items than we had ordered and was re-presented after this was pointed out.

Nothing really memorable, and having had to make an hour's drive to get there, it won't be somewhere we'd be rushing back to.

I stayed at this hotel on Saturday 3rd August for one night

Hotel is set on a golf course with very nice grounds.

Check in and out was speedy.

Rooms are kept in good condition and also come with the usual sundries such as shampoo, conditioner and also tea & coffee making facilities.

Only a 10 minute drive into the centre of Doncaster.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Doncaster area.

A group of 4 ladies, we checked into Owston Hall a bit early but our rooms were ready. The drive down to the hotel is very nice, through the golf course, and the house looks very grand when you approach it.We didn't have any problems finding it. The lady on reception was lovely and made us feel very at home, despite us wearing dirty clothes and boots from playing polo. Our rooms (in the main house) were huge and had everything you needed. We had stayed at a travellodge the night before and the bed was so comfortable in comparison. The 'communal' areas are quietly grand and the pool and spa were good too. The staff were nice, the food was extremely good and the so was the wine, what more could you want?! We even had some extra 'entertainment' from some other guests coming back from the races a little worse for wear. If there was any noise I certainly didn't hear it, and I'm a light sleeper. The only thing that would have improved it for me would be to have some hash browns on the buffet breakfast as there wasn't really much of a cooked breakfast for a vegetarian.
We had a lovely time and I would return.
