Spent 2 nights in this hotel. We decided only 2 days in advance to visit Salem to catch all the festivals going on in October. This hotel is about 9 miles outside of the historical district - about 15 minute drive. Prices were a somewhat hight due to the time of the year. I was amazed to see that the hotel was listed as a Catagory 3 (would have expected higher, so I used Hilton points for one night that reduced costs.

Joyce, the person at the front desk was extremely helpful. She was efficient, friendly and had to juggle between our check-in and a phone call and did it without making me wait or feel rushed. Can't say too much about her. She was wonderful.

The indoor pool was nice -- really warm just the way I like it. No hot tub, but I spent almost an hour in the pool which was very unexpected. I only wished they kept it open later than 9pm -- that seemed very early to close it down.

Room was spotless, and seemed recently renovated or just very well maintained. Everything worked, had a flat screen TV, channel directory was attached to a mini table on the bed, free wireless internet, plenty of outlets. Hotel was laid out in a way the rooms were not too far from the elevator. Seemed to be ample parking right in front of the hotel, and they had rolling carts to help with luggage.

Breakfast included eggs (those premade kind which are not my favorite, but most places don't even have this), sausage, waffles, bagles, assorted buns, cereals, and lots more. Plenty of tables so no waiting which was nice - and we were there at a busy time.

The drive to Salem was a bit further than expected, but not bad. All hotels in Salem were booked and cost lots more. Plenty of family resturants nearby. In all, a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Bring your swimsuit - pool is really warm.

We chose this spot at random on our way to Maine. It met our needs, the desk clerk was extremely helpful, our room was clean and very comfortable, and the continental breakfast was wonderful. Therefore, on our way back through the area the following week we chose this hotel again.
The pizza restaurant nearby has A+ pizza!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn due to its proximity to Salem, MA and its price. Check-in was easy. Room - up to usual standards. Breakfast is also included, which is a HUGE plus. The one negative, is the locale depending on the direction you're coming from. May need to pass the hotel and make a U-turn to get there. Now, I didn't use the pool or business center, but for what I needed which was a good place to stay for 1 night at a very reasonable rate, this is definitely a place you should consider.

First impression when you walk in the door is "holy cow chlorine smell." Their pool in practically in the lobby. Check in with Drew was fast, friendly & helpful. Hotel "business center" is just a desk in the back of the dining area with one computer & one printer. Elevator was very dark, dingy & slow. The room they put us in had a king size bed but the air conditioning didn't work, nor did the toilet (didn't flush properly). The free breakfast was below average. The eggs were dry & powdery. The floor was dirty and the choices were slim. The worst thing about this place is the road access. It is VERY difficult to get into. You have to go way around a divided highway and double back. If you miss the turn, it takes you eight miles out of your way to get back. It's a good thing we had a GPS to get back or we would have been lost for sure. We were supposed to stay for two nights but we decided to check out early.

Chose Peabody for our stay as it was centrally located to our destinations of the North Shore and Maine. We have always enjoyed Hampton Inns and this was no exception. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Good breakfast. The only drawback is the driving up and down route 1 and turning around to get to the hotel, but this does not change the quality of the hotel. Had a great time Hope to go back soon.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side of the hotel tend to be quieter than those facing route1. We had requested a...

Positive: the rooms are modern and clean, breakfast is fine, lots of parking.
Negative: the two beds room only have two double beds, which can be a bit narrow for kids to share. Also there were no roll-away beds available (they have very few of these).
The TV in our room did not work. Although we notified the front desk it was not fixed the next day and we were without a TV for two of our three nights in this hotel.
The location is fine but the divided highway requires some extra driving for U-turns to get to and from the hotel.
Overall I was a little disappointed by this hotel - it is not what I expected of the Hampton Inn chain

Room Tip: Take the king bed room with the sofa bed

Dear AlbanyL,
Thank you for your comments and feedback regarding your recent stay at my hotel. We do offer rollaway beds for our guests on a first come/first serve basis. I am sorry we did not have one available at the time of your check-in. As I cannot verify the name/date of the stay with us, a check of our maintenance log regarding your TV concerns could not be confirmed. I would like to look into that concern further and ask that you reply to this message via email with the information. Your business is greatly appreciated and I hope to welcome you back again soon.

We had a great stay here. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very helpful. I must also commend the manger Joe. Everytime I saw him he was busy helping his employees. One day one he was cleaning rooms on the sixth floor and was helpful when I asked him a question. Another morning, he was helping to keep the breakfast buffet filled. We got great advice and extremely helpful staff. The pool was wonderfully warm, great for children, and we have three. I will stay again and already recommended it to others!!!
