My wife and I decided to take the kids on a mini-vacation to this hotel. We've both stayed here before when we need to get away but don't want to be too far from the kids (ages 5, 4, and 4). Each time we've stayed, we're always greeted with a smile and warm welcome. The rooms have always been impeccably clean, and this place pays attention to keeping dust-free. The climate control works great all through the seasons. The kids love it because they can share a huge king size bed together and the (indoor) pool is great, although it can be chilly at times. You get used to it quickly, and it can be refreshing. There's also a whirlpool in the pool area in the far corner. Clean towels are abundant and there's plenty of tables to sit at. The breakfast buffet here is free and it's actually quite good - bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, waffles, coffee, juice, tea, etc. The staff is also great about making sure hings dont run out while breakfast hours are open. There's plenty of space to sit. I recommend this place over and over again to out-of-state vendors I talk with when they're flying in to work on a project with me as well. This hotel strikes a good balance between business and pleasure. Internet is free. Wireless is in the lobby and rooms, but you'll get faster bandwidth if you connect via their network cable in the room. It's still good via wireless though. Outside of the hotel, there are a ton of places to eat - fast food, casual dining, and fine dining - all within 5 miles of this hotel. It's right along Route 1, which is a haven for restaurants. These are some examples: Starbucks, McDonalds, Sonic, Target, Square One Shopping Center, Hilltop Steakhouse, Prince Italian restaurant, and more. Just ask the front desk and they'll help you decide. Also, when I travel out of state on business, I always chek to see if there's a Springhill where I'm staying. This chain is that good. Hope this helps!

Just as a suggestion to travelers, this hotel is VERY nice and centrally located to visit many sites in the region, but get a really good map (better than google) to get access to this hotel. We drive a lot but the roads are very difficult in this particular area. There is a medium you cannot cross and you have to go miles to get turned around and then there are highways that cross that are not allowable for turning around at the next crossover. We stayed there two nights in a row and had trouble each time getting back to the hotel even though we thought we knew exactly how to do it. There is a secret back way into the hotel, learn this from a map at the hotel. The hotel attendant's agree, it is not easy to get to them, even though they are on a main road. However, not to discourage anyone, the hotel is beautiful, exceptionally well run, great food, great service. ...just know how to get there and approach it from the side of the street it is located on. It is right near Sonic.

Whenever the majority of negative reviews are old (more than a year), I think it is important to update them if you have a positive experience. So I am.

There is nothing wrong with this hotel. It appears to have been recently refurbished. The shower/tub surround is now corian, which anyone in the construction industry can tell you is antimicrobial (mold CANNOT grow on it). The vanity and wet bar countertops are granite.

Yes, the suite space is divided by a half wall. There are not 2 separate rooms. But the pictures on both Trip Advisor and the Marriott websites clearly show this. However, the sitting area with sofa, chair, desk, end tables, and lamps makes it possible to watch TV or work without having to sit on your bed.

This hotel is on Rt. 1 north of Boston. Rt. 1 is a limited access surface street. It is also THE major north/south thoroughfare between Boston and Maine NOT named Interstate 95. So, yes, it is a busy street with limited "turnarounds". And if you aren't familiar with New England "jug handles", it can be frustrating if you miss them. Heading northbound on Rt. 1, the hotel is on the right IMMEDIATELY after you go under the Interstate 95 overpass.

We were on the back side of the hotel, but with the a/c on we never would have heard road noise. The hotel was also full of high school-aged kids in town for a basketball tournament, and we never heard them either.

Room Tip: Make reservations online, request high floor/rear

My husband and I stayed with our two kids, 4 and 6. The suite set up was great. Free breakfast was convenient when traveling with kids. Indoor pool was a great treat!
