I was surprised this restaurant didn't have more reviews and more stars because I loved it and would definitely go back. We sat in the indoor patio section surrounded by plants, it was a beautiful setting. My husband ordered the swordfish and broccoli, and I ordered the chicken and shrimp pasta. Both were excellent. The service was very fast.

My family and I went to The Old Jailhouse on Thursday August 30, 2007. We had a wait of 1/2 hour. I ordered steamers as an appetizer and they were okay. I ordered the steamed lobster and it was overcooked. I LOVE lobster and I could not wait to have it that night. I was so disappointed. I ate the claws and left the rest and told the waitress it was overcooked. When I came back to my table, from going to the ladies room, the waitress and my family were having a heated exchange. She apparently came back with a message "the manager said my lobster was cooked perfectly". Well now, because of this, it will be my last time ever at this restaurant. I know lobster and I know what is overcooked, it was rubber and hard and if you are a lobster lover like me, you would be disappointed. I did not even touch a leg and dip it in butter and suck the meat out (something I love to do when I am done eating my lobster claws and tail). I left most of my lobster there. The waitress was very agressive and when the owner came over, whom apologized, I was at my end. I wanted my check and I wanted to leave. He did not charge me for my lobster. Which was fine either way. I wanted my lobster so bad and I was very disappointed.

Great service, dining, and atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Restaurant is a short distance off Exit 12 on Route 6. The building is historic and used to serve as a jail.

It was decorated beautifully for the holiday season. It is cozy without feeling crowded. There's a lot of elbow room, but the atmosphere is homey and elegant at the same time.
