Expected better prices off season. We would have liked some salads or side dishes to take back to our rental with the steamed lobster.

As others have mentioned, this is not a restaurant. But if you live nearby or are heading to a barbecue, it is a good place to choose from a nice array of seafood, including dozens of lobsters of different sizes waiting for you inside a humongous pool.
We came home with some sole and outsize quahogs. Everything was fine. The only issue: nothing is cheap there, even by Cape Cod standards. The sole was among the cheapest offerings at $15.99 a pound. We passed on the steamers at $5.99 a pound. The quahogs were only $.89 a pound, but a half-dozen of those puppies were over three pounds.
Earlier in the day we had been to Chatham, and went into the fish market by the pier. The selection wasn't as ample and I thought maybe they were charging a premium because of the location. In fact, for fish like sole and flounder, Chatham was at least $3 a pound less. That's a big spread. While the fish here may, repeat, may be a little fresher than at the Stop & Shop down the street, you may not notice the difference. But your wallet will.

I went to the Nauset Fish & Lobster Pool based on the ratings on TripAdvisor. However, it is not a restaurant. They are a fish market that offers to steam your lobster for you... that's it. It is not a criticism, just to let people know.

We went there based on all the 5 star ratings. There is a fish store, which may be great, but we wanted the restaurant, which is a tiny place with 4or 5 tables. They were out of crab at 1 p.m. in the afternoon. When I asked about whether there is a lot of mayonnaise in the lobster roll, I was told yes, so didn't get that. (n.b. there is very little mayonnaise in Arnold's lobster rolls.) There was almost no choice left of anything not fried, so we both got baked scallops, which were very good, with ok (not great) coleslaw on the side. The place was very busy, so clearly if you love fried seafood, it is probably the place to go.
