We met friends at the Hearth 'n Kettle. The service and food were ok, but don't use the restrooms. They are dirty and smelly. This is a good stop for families who want to eat inside. But surely there are better spots in the area.

We always make this place our last stop for breakfast before heading off the Cape each year. Have never been disappointed. Service is always attentive and the breakfast menu always offers a wide selection that seems to please our hard-to-please kids. Close to Route 6.......

We're sometimes a bit leery of "chain" restaurants when we travel, but we'd heard good things about the Hearth and Kettle in Orleans, don''t have that chain at home, and decided to give them a try for breakfast one morning during our trip to the Cape. Found it to have "comfortable" decor with friendly service and some interesting menu items.
Our hot-apple-French-toast (with a sauce so sweet there was no need to add maple syrup) and a Harvest Hash with eggs breakfast entree (potatoes, squash and seasonings, but no meat in the hash) -- really quite tasty and hearty. The toast acccompanying the egg plate was unremarkable, but the side order of bacon (had to make up for the lack of meat in the hash somehow) was thick, well-prepared and tasty. A good solid breakfast, in a relaxed and homey atmosphere, from a server who knew her business.... Better experience than we'd anticipated if we're honest about it.

Had the haddock, shrimp, and scallops. Really liked the baked, not fried presentation. Also must try the fiery bloody Mary. Good comfort food at a reasonable price.

Very good family style food. Went there over the Memorial Day weekend. Everyone was pleased with their meals. Worth trying, choices for everyone.
