Completely safe experience for toddler's first time at the beach. My son loved it. Not a beach for lots of action and water sports. It is big, clean and not rocky. Beautiful beach for families with toddlers. $15 parking during peak season.

This beach is full of families with young kids.Low tide is ood for findin hermit crabs, blue crabs, minnows and some clams. You are not really able to swim in the tidal pools and during low tide, the actual ocean is 20min walk (we timed it).My 2.5yr old was bored with the low tide and liked the high tide better for swimming.Beautiful sunsets, small beach during high tide and small parking lot.We liked Mayflower beach better

Pluses: warm water. a snack stand is available.
Minuses: no waves at all -- feels like you're in a pool (some might like that, but I like at least gentle waves). Tide is very dramatic -- at low tide, you'll have to walk a long way out to get water deeper than your knees. Also, beach is small so it gets crowded.

Neutral - very family dominated beach, probably because of the warm water and lack of waves. This could be a plus if you are planning a family trip, a negative/neutral if you're not.

Overall, it is a fine choice of beach on a nice day, but there are other options on the cape in my opinion that offer a little more space and a better experience if you're a water person.

This is a great beach for families with small children. Older children will be bored. The water is very calm and you can see the bottom. At low tide, you can literally walk for miles which is great for exploring but you can't swim even if you wanted to. It is mostly sand bars for miles (I'm not kidding!). It was fun for the kids to explore - we found lots of hermit crabs, minnows, crabs, and one small eel. Bring your net!
