Chose Johnson's recently to celebrate my mother's birthday. She is local and raves about the Breakfast here so we decided to try dinner. Typically we would have to travel at least 30 minutes to a restaurant for a celebration dinner, so this was a refreshing change of pace. We got there a bit late on a Thursday night and were the only diners in the upstairs dining room. The only down side of that is that we found ourselves having to search out the wait staff to have a problem fixed with one of our meals. However the problem was rectified quickly. The atmosphere is quaint country, and we really enjoyed looking at all of the crafts and items for sale. Food was delicious and plentiful. The specials were great and everything was reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

We recently treated ourselves to dinner here - first timers - and truly enjoyed the entire experience. The staff was amazingly welcoming and thoughtfully directed our food choices to some of the local favorites. I selected the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans and my date chose the pan-seared scallops with mashed and carrots. Before our entrées arrived we both enjoyed a cup of New England clam chowder, which was creamy, delicious, and full of clams were beautifully tender. The scallops and carrots both had a maple glaze, but it was applied with just a "kiss" of syrup so that the delicate flavors of the main ingredients weren't lost. The meatloaf was one of the best I've had recently in a restaurant (I can never pass-up meatloaf!). A true star, the mashed potatoes were just the tiniest bit lumpy so that you knew they were homemade, yet creamy without being too butter or cream-laden.

Everything we ate was top-notch, the view can't be beat, the restaurant was spotless, the restroom was immaculate, and each diner gets a bingo card with the goal of winning a gift certificate towards a future visit! It's clearly evident that this family-run restaurant and sugarhouse is the favorite local hang-out for good reason.

We can't wait to stop in again soon to try some items from their mouth-watering breakfast menu!
