“Very nice, but...”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Stayed three nights in a bunkhouse travel trailer.

The property was beautiful, clean, & well maintained. Our site was nice, big and private. Hookups were a breeze and the site was pretty level. Small gravel for your camper and soft wood chips for the rest of the site. Fire pit was very big and made of nice round light colored stones, very natural, nice touch!
Activities were pleasantly entertaining for an "off-season" stay. My kids had a blast. The dog park was nice and my two dogs enjoyed going there several times. It was nice to let them off the leash for awhile.
Staff was very friendly and always greeted you at the counter with a smile or a big wave from the golf carts. Bathrooms and showers were immaculate and private, no stalls...nice!

BUT:

Rates are rather high and based on two campers which is greedy. Don't call it a family campground if the family costs extra.

One dishwashing sink on the whole site way over in the east side of property by the rustic cabins. It would not kill ya to put a couple more around the site. RV sinks are not particularly big.

One dumpster for the ENTIRE campground and you actually have to "leave" (go through the security gate) the property to dispose of your trash. LAME! No to mention a campground of this size, the one lonely dumpster was ALWAYS full.

This place should be a 5 Star all day long. A couple of quick and inexpensive fixes will get ya there!

Room Tip: Sites were nice and big, only the waterfront ones appeared to be close to one another. Cabins looke...

the beginning of our stay was not the best...no one turned on the pilot light which naturally resulted in a freezing cold shower...ugh! The frig did not work, but when the staff was told the frig was replaced within an hour! When we booked our cabin we were told there would be entertainment in the lounge on sat...when we arrived this was not the case.
dispite a rough start we have a great time & would visit this campground again

Room Tip: if renting a cabin keep in mind the only bathroom is in the bedroom which can make things a bit iffy...

This was our 3rd year back (Labor Day Weekend), and we rented a cabin this year and last. This place is great for younger kids- HOWEVER, upon checkout Monday morning when we were going to rebook the same cabin, we were told the cabin had already been booked for next year. Naturally, we were upset and asked how that could have happened, since the staff there told us we rebook when we check out-which is what we had done the 2 years prior. The manager could have cared less and gave us no explanation and basically said too bad, not her problem. Needless to say, we will NEVER return as we paid $960.00 to stay in the cabin this year and last and left it cleaner than when we checked in! We are upset about the lack of info about rebooking at check-in (or by email) and because of the extremely poor way we were treated by the manager. Word to the Wise- treatment and retention of customers will ensure a long future!

Room Tip: If booking a cabin or RV- always check your inventory list in the book left on table- If there is an...

This was such a good experience for us. My son is afraid of the dark, bugs, etc. and we decided to try camping to help him face his fears. It was just enough. Tents and RV's were separate which was so nice. Bathrooms/ showers were next to us which was wonderful, so he did not have to go too far. It was amazingly clean considering it was in a rustic area. The pool was clean and well attended. The staff drove around picking up trash and doing maintenance all day long and we heard the park rangers driving around all night making us feel safe ( we were afraid... since we were new to sleeping outdoors). Staff was Disney friendly. Unfortunately, we booked for 3 nights. The second night it rained and our tent began to leak. Everything got very wet. We checked out without spending our last night. I asked if they offer any type of refund/ credit etc if they could resell the night. ( we were told they were sold out of tent sites that night, when we booked), and were told, "no, we don't do that." That is my only complaint about the resort. I would have liked perhaps a 25% discount on a future visits during the fall ( or something like that.). Instead, we did a second trip 2 weeks later at a different location. If we would have been given a "please try again" discount, or something like that we would have gone back there instead of trying somewhere else.

Love this place, we spend a week here every summer and it's great for the kiddies and the adults. Every week there is a schedule of activities for the kiddies (and a few for adults) you can always find something to do! There is a pool with a mini splash area, hot tub that is monitered (no kids allowed) an arcade, mini golf, sports for kids and familes and a lot more. It's small enough that it allows for kids to meet friends and see them all week and big enough to bike and run. The small store have food (mostly fried but ok) and really delish ice cream the one thing that sort of drives me crazy is the time it takes to get waited on, whether you want ice cream, a sandwich or just getting firewood if there is more than one person a head of you, please take a deep breath because you will have to wait. Oh another thing I love, boat rentals and fishing, this place is great. Cabins only for me, no need for a camper, a week is too long for that small of a space.

Room Tip: How long are you staying is huge! The beds are pretty terrible and the pullout couches are extremely...

We are always looking for a new campground to visit. We heard a lot about Pine Acres and finally made it out there. Very nice campground, plenty to do with the kids. Great pool area and the staff is so friendly. We really liked it, would visit again but not a fan of driving through a rural/city with a camper. Would need find an alternate route that is mostly highway.

We spent a week in August on premium waterfront site 89. Best view and location for sure. Clise to everything including a very clean bathhouse. We had a semi private dock for our kayaks very nice patio and fire pit. The view was spectacular and the activities for our kids 9,11&14 were ok. It was quiet, clean and very family friendly.
