We went there on a Saturday and it was packed. The hostess wrote down the wrong time for our reservation so we had a short wait. Everything was what you would expect from a decent pub. The beer selection was good and the food average pub food. The exception was the oysters. Which were excellent. We shared the fish and chips and the pub salad. Both were what you would expect at a pub. The service was average but they were quite busy. Nothing great (other than the oysters) but nothing negative either.

We ate here for lunch. They have a great menu and a good selection of craft/local beers. Service was good. It was just a block from Madison Inn where we stayed. We went back in the evening and it was packed, but that's expected for popular places in the summer.

Don't worry if you are not an oyster fan there are plenty of tasty options on the menu for those of us who do not require each menu item to complement each other. If this is what you require please go to Edgartown.
The lobster roll is jammed packed with 1/2 lb lobster with very little to no mayo. They even put the lettuce on the side to not disrupt the perfection. Otherwise great seafood, chicken and beef dishes complete the entree's. A must is the selection of home brews and deserts which are both served in mug. My favorite deserts are the keylime pie and strawberry shortcake.
This is a great place for those of us who like to relax without much of the pretentiousness found so often outside of Oakbluffs.
Oh yah, as many free penuts as you can eat too.

This is one busy restaurant and with the open fire grill for the pizza it was mighty warm in there. Food was ok. I got a basic hamburger and brought my own gluten free roll and my husband got the pizza.

In a place dominated by tourist traps selling over-priced lobster rolls and underliquored drinks, this place stands out. Yes, it is popular with the locals but as is usually the case, there is a reason. This is a real deal micro-brewery with good bar grub.

We actually ate here twice in our three days on the island. We had lunch there the first day, fried oysters with home brewed beer. And we had a desert here our last night.

The whole racing sculls and fishing gear on the ceiling thing works. The peanut shells on the floor is evidence of another free meal. The beer is authentic, the service staff sharp, the portions good. This restaurant would be just as good in any mainland location, it just happens to be on a tourist centric island. Brilliant marketing move.
