“Colorful even on a rainy day”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

Took a day trip to OB last week. It was raining , but still nice to walk around and look at the colorful charming homes. My teenagers thought it was weird to take pictures of other people's homes , but they got over it.

“MVCMA Resident”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

I highly recommend visitors to come and experience the MVCMA aka "Campgrounds", especially being part of the National Historic Registry! This unique community is straight out of a fairy tale! Every cottage is different and the Tabernacle's stained glass windows are incredibly beautiful! The Cottage Museum is a must see and the gift shop (in the back of the museum) has many treasures hand made by Campground residents.

“gingergread cottages”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

We loved the tour of the gingerbread houses. Our guide, a resident of the cottages, was informative and entertaining as he told us about the history and other details of the Methodist encampment.

“When you do not want to go to the beach”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The campgrounds are something special and a bit magical. It is a lovely place to stroll when you are beached out. What once were tents built around the tabernacle overtime became a collection of Victorian Gingerbread Houses. The cottage owners take great pride in their home and great creativity in their chooses of house colors. It makes for a very pleasant afternoon walk. I would strongly suggest a visit to the cottage museum to get a quick overview of the history of the cottages. Taking a Campground Cottage tour is also a pleasant way to spend time in the campground. During the summer there are a large variety of activities for all ages offered at the Tabernacle. Definitely a change of pace.
