My girlfriend and I have spent our summer vacation at Brady's on the Vineyard for the past 6 years in a row. This year will be our 7th consecutive stay at Brady's. Basically, at this point, if Brady's was booked and there was no room for us at his extraordinary B&B, then we would just change our plans altogether and go somewhere other than the Vineyard.

The house itself is incredible! It is conveniently located (about a 5-minute walk to the center of Oak Bluffs and a short stroll to the beach) and beautifully decorated with an assundry of interesting artwork, majestic maps, and pictures of Brady's adventures across the southwestern United States and beyond. An eclectic collection of books abound on shelves, countertops, and tables throughout the house making a good read only an arm's reach away. The guest rooms and common room are incredibly clean and comfortable guaranteeing a relaxing and invigorating visit. The outside grounds boast an inviting hot tub and an outdoor shower that is even more sensational when experienced under the summer night stars. It has to be said also that the front porch at Brady's may just be the most perfect place on the planet, let alone on the island or in Oak Bluffs. Still though, with all this being said, the number one reason for staying at Brady's B&B is Brady himself.

The extraordinary Brady will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. He, along with his trusty co-host - the lovable pooch Ami - will take care of all of your needs (as well as those of your four-legged friend) and answer any questions that you may have about the island or the town of Oak Bluffs. Brady's nearly famous breakfast spread - featuring a heavily guarded secret cereal blend recipe - is sure to get you going in the morning and fill you full of energy. A simple suggestion of a song will even have Brady sorting through his impressive selection of CDs and Albums to fulfill your musical requests.

An afternoon on the porch for a cocktail or a cold drink with Brady is an absolute must! It is here that you can hear him tell his tales of his adventures on the island and around the world. There is simply no better way to spend a day! And, even after we have returned home and returned to our jobs, we often find ourselves exchanging "Brady Stories" throughout the year and smiling as we raise a toast to our friend Brady.

To any and all that are considering staying at Brady's B&B - it comes with our highest recommendation!

My wife and I prefer B&B's; especially in coastal locations. Brady's is the poster child of outstanding B&B's. Character, views, inspiration, proximity, advice, comfort, cost; all wrapped up in a historic location maintained with an adventurous spirit. We'll be back.

We just spent three wonderful days during the off season on Martha's vineyard. It was our first visit to the vineyard and Bradys NESW Bed and Breakfast in Oak Bluffs turned out to be a great choice! The weather was cold and rainy but Bradys was warm and pleasant. We originally chose Bradys because of being pet friendly and because it is one of the few B&B's open year round. We and our pet were warmly welcomed by both the host and his friendly cocker spaniel, Aimee. They graciously shared their home with us and made us feel like we were staying with old friends on the island. We stayed in the West Room with a wonderful picture window and window seat overlooking the ocean, which provided a quiet place to read and renew and to watch beautiful sunsets. Brady has a large collection of books on a wide variety of subjects to satisfy anyone's reading pleasure. To say Brady is well read and a great conversationalist is definitely an understatement. He shared island stories, travel experiences, reviews of books and great plays, and the history of the house that is now Bradys NESW B&B. He also had great recommendations for where to go, what to see and where to eat. He made us feel comfortable and at home. Playing cd's from his extensive music collection that matched our music preferences and providing breakfast coffee mugs from places that matched our individual interests were really nice touches. Breakfast was a continental breakfast as stated on his website. For a continental breakfast, it was very nice, consisting of a wonderful juice blend, excellent coffee, fresh fruit, a unique cereal mix with berries and nuts, and toast and jam. I look forward to our next visit to Martha's Vineyard and plan to stay at Bradys again to visit with our newly acquired "old friend" there.

I spent lots of time looking online at every possible option for a short off-season visit to the Vineyard with my college senior daughter and our dog. When I finally called Brady, his friendly demeanor and sense of humor clinched it. And when he asked me to send a picture of the pooch with our payment, (and bring a bottle of Absolut ... any size ... as payment for the pet's stay), I was pretty sure we had a winner. Turns out we absolutely did.
Bradys location is perfect. Within walking distance to town and yet only a couple of minutes walk from miles of trails for walking, running, biking. (For in-season travelers, it's great that the house is a block from the beach). The beds were super comfortable and even though our the room wasn't big, the huge closet and the balcony and bright sun coming in the windows made the space feel more than ample. The house is unique! It was built in the mid-nineteeth century and the porches, balconies, sloping interior roofs and wood floors appear to be original...but it also has beautifully renovated kitchen and baths. The walls are filled with history, images of the Southwest, opera memorabilia, poetry, photography, original drawings and so much more; and there are books, books, books in every room --- enough to ensure you'll never suffer from even a minute of boredom. And Brady. Well, listening to Brady and his stories will take you to places and experiences that will stay with you long after you leave. And you'll realize that you must return another time for more. But now, the last word belongs to our pooch who loved seeing the picture I sent of him posted on the fridge in the kitchen when we arrived, and who adored being adored by Ami, Bradys resident cocker spaniel. She shared her space with total generosity and made our dog feel really at home. Thanks so much, Brady. We'll be back.

My wife and I recently took a late summer break on Martha’s Vineyard - with our beagle, Walter. We were greeted at the door by Brady and his sweet cocker spaniel, Amie. Brady was not only a superb host, but a surprisingly enjoyable contribution to our weekend. Future guests: heed his recommendations! Especially the outdoor shower (in season) and the early morning sunrise from the balcony. If you think showering outdoors is not for you - think again! Whatever your reservations, set them aside for this experience. Vacations are for expanding your horizons and this is especially true at Bradys. Get a real islander’s version of historic events from Brady, stories you’ll never read in a newspaper. Brady keeps a map of the UK on the kitchen wall. Visitors from the UK are encouraged to place a pin at their hometown - as did my wife. Finally, don’t be tempted to stand in line in town for breakfast. Take advantage of his freshly brewed coffee and that wonderful, fresh toast!

A superb Bed and Breakfast-
nestled among the trees yet close to both beach and village. Reasonably priced, its clean, cozy, and airy with wide porches and sits on a beautiful plot.
Brady is a diamond; his little dog Ami a charmer. You think you are staying at home of a favorite uncle. A real find.

The basics; steps from the water, very nice rooms, hot tubs, extra shower outside, huge porch and private balconies. But don't go there for these. Go for Brady! A wonderful man that makes you feel like your staying with friends. Great conversations and super knowledgable about all that goes on or has gone on on the island. Its a big island. You can come home with pictures or stay with Brady and come home with memories. Bring your own ceral to mix in with the batch and leave a little history. You can't go wrong with Brady's.
