It is newly renovated for 2012 summer. quite expansive, BUT, it is a sport bar feel with tall bar tables, with chairs with no backs.
The crowds at the end of May, 2012 are quite down-to-earth guys in their 20s, slightly out of shape, and very loud. But not obnoxiously. All tabled are occupied but hardly anyone was eating at around 7-8pm.
The meals are all sushis on one half of the menu, and the other shows fried appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and nothing on the serious dinner plate choices at around $11-15. Very inexpensive.
The portions are quite big. However, although they are fresh looking, the taste is unimpressive, in my friend's term. For me, just lame-No flavor whatsoever. Considering the setting, prices, and the food quality, and how they are served, I guess this place is for the young who would like to have a good time without feeling the pressure of ordering expensive meals or drinks.
If you are over 30+ and sit there to eat at night, not for a drink, and you will definitely want to find a corner. And, the waitresses do not pay attention to the dinner guests but for the drinking patrons.
My major complaints are
1. they never have a designated sit-down area. So, for me, it is a sports bar trying to attract the tourist with tavern menu. not that smart tactic, but whatever works to collect the tourist money, I guess.
2. There are young local males, who feel very comfortable, and scream loudly bext to the dinner guests, watching ESTN on TVs. And, the manager has no control of them. And, it was very much compromised situations, while many other guest would raise their eyebrows.
3. they use plastic cups, utensils, and plates, Too much waste comes out at the end of the day - very irresponsible, and This plastic everything is not a good way to showcase Eco Tourism on MV, not nice to the locals or for protecting the wildlife. This is why I drop their rating to 2 stars, otherwise 2.5 stars for my dinner experience.
