“Love the Food!!!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

I was there last night and the fried chicken is the best I have ever had: perfection. I usually get right off the ferry and straight to The Red Cat just to get it. Pair that with the crispy string beans and you will not be disappointed.
Great atmosphere, music, friendly service, and great margaritas to boot!!
It's Sunday morning and I am still thinking of that fried chicken.........

“Didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

We made reservations based on reviews but didn't know what to expect when we arrived given the decor that attempts to be shabby chic but is mostly shabby. The music was blasting and the tables were packed in together so we were a bit put off at the beginning of the meal. But once Cara came to our table everything tool a turn for the for the better as the service and food were first rate. Cara could have not been more attentive or helpful and the food was excellent. We didn't want the full dinners so we stayed with the small plates. We started with the Caesar salad and the roasted brussel sprouts and afterward we shared the burger and the fishcakes. The burger came with enough tater tots to feed the entire restaurant. We finished less than half of them. Everything was excellent. We are looking forward to going there on a weekday and maybe sitting outside where it is a bit quieter.

“Funky Place, Excellent Food”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

A foodie friend who summers on Martha's Vineyard recommended this place (normally we stay up island where it's quieter and avoid Oak Bluffs). Fortunately we got to sit on the enclosed porch, not inside where music was blasting. And the food was, for the most part, fabulous.

Honestly, the gnocchi of the day (with lobster, preserved lemon, and wild mushrooms, not to mention a bit of butter) was one of the best dishes I've ever had. I also went with the chef's Imagination halibut, which turned out to be accompanied by perfect risotto (parmesan and peas, I believe) and more of that wonderful preserved lemon. We had the rose wine, which is really light--be forewarned--but was a great accompaniment to my meal. My husband's flash fried brussels sprouts were good, but not as fabulous as others I've had. And his fried chicken was a disappointment. So I can't give it five stars, but we'll definitely be back next year, assuming the chef is still there.

“Amazing”

Love this place, the chef really has a passion for food, you can taste it.
We chose the Chefs imagination, allowing him to create whatever he felt and it was to die for.
A gem in Oak Bluffs, MUST GO.

“Totally overrated and over priced”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We went to Ken n Beck at the recommendation of a friend. First we waited an extra half hour to be seated. When we ordered, the food came out in no particular order, entrees before appetizers etc. For a party of three, we spent over $200 and one of us didn't even order an entree.
We were totally disappointed and definitely won't return!
