I had a pleasant stay at the Nashua House for 2 nights at the end of May 2010. It is in an old Victorian building right smack in the middle of downtown Oak Bluffs, within walking distance to the ferry terminals and with many good eateries nearby. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable, though they may be a little on the small side, especially if you have a lot of luggage. Our room, 206, also didn't have a cabinet for clothes so we had to make do with the various hooks or drawers around the room.
Though the rooms didn't have private toilets, the public toilets are surprisingly very clean. I also liked that they provided Rusk shampoo, conditioner and soap bar, which didn't dry the skin.
Service could have been improved - the lady who checked us in on Day 1 was a little aloof but the duty manager on Day 2, Lory, was much friendlier. We even received a follow-up email from her to get feedback on our stay.
There was no breakfast provided but there were plenty of eateries in the area so it was not a major inconvenience.
Still, for the price, the Nashua House is a good place to stay in Oak Bluffs and worthy of a recommendation.
