We stayed at The Pequot Hotel for a week while on our honeymoon. This was by far the best vacation we have ever had! The atmosphere was very warm and friendly from the moment we walked in. The staff was so very nice and helped us out with any questions we had through our whole entire stay. They truly went above and beyond to serve us. The free breakfast was full of variety and you can treat yourself to chocolate chip cookies and tea every afternoon, while sitting on the porch! They also has a wine and cheese night which was very enjoyable! The location was perfect as well. It is one block from the beach and just a walk away from all of the amazing sites Oak Bluffs has to offer. We would highly recommend to anyone vacationing to The Vineyard! We will be back for sure!

We just returned from our 3 day 4 night stay at the Pequot Hotel and we enjoyed our time spent there. The free breakfast was perfect for us (bagels, english muffins, oatmeal, juice, coffee, etc..). The afternoon apple cider and gingerbread cake was the best! We were on the porch everyday at 2pm, to take in the fresh air, drink some cider and read/relax. Our room was on the small side but we didn't spend much time in it so it didn't matter. The room could use a little face lift, the paint was old as there were markings on the walls and the curtains were a tinge yellow (minor cosmetics that did not affect our stay). I was hoping for a room that looked like the ones that appear on their website. The only down side to the room was the size of the shower. I am only 5'2 and rather petite and I struggled a bit in the shower as it is very small and there was not much room to move around and the bathroom had a musty smell to it like something was leaking (room #30 if staff wants to investigate). All in all, I would definitely recommend the Pequot to anyone who asks. It is in the perfect location to the ferry, beaches, and shops and dining and the staff at the Pequot is super friendly!

Dear Amy R,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review of your recent stay at the Pequot Hotel.

The recent additions to our expanded continental breakfast are big hits – as you shared! Our home-cooked steel-cut oats, fresh-from-the-oven scones, Blue Ribbon Coffee Cake (made here on the Island!), fruits of the day, gluten-free selections, and quiche along with our signature muffins, yogurt, cereals, and bagels have brought smiles to all of our new and returning Pequoters.

Our afternoon cider and gingerbread (served with our renowned chocolate chip cookies!) taste good on a cool day, don’t they?!

Thank you for the heads’ up about the ‘cosmetic’ touch-ups you felt we needed. Because we are fortunate enough to run at full capacity most of the time, we generally address painting and other ‘face-lift’ matters at the end of the season after we have closed. We do this so that our guests don’t have to experience the smell of paint in their room. Once we close, our construction crew/maintenance team of Tony, Wilbert and Ransford get busy with many projects to help make the Pequot beautiful and improve our guests’ experiences. I have added your suggestions to the list. Thank you!

I hope to be able to welcome you back to the Pequot Hotel next season – be sure to call me directly so that I can assist you in choosing a room that best suits your needs as we have 32 of varying sizes and configurations.

Until we meet again,

My warmest regards,
Lisa

Our 3 night stay in OB was delightful. The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are basic, but fine ... although they could use a little more horizontal space. Our room, #12, had a private bath and 2nd floor porch. Lovely! The breakfast is plentiful and we loved the oatmeal. Refreshments are always available. It is more of a BnB than a hotel. The location is excellent since you can walk to town and the ferry.

Room Tip: Room 12 has it's own private porch which was delightful -- although it just has twin beds.

Hello 2-NJ-Zs,

Thank you so much for commenting on your recent stay at The Pequot. I'm pleased that you enjoyed your time in room 12. It is a favorite of many and often requested by our repeat guests-hope you will be one of them!

Thank you for your suggestion for more horizontal space. We are actually in the process of moving the flat screen televisions off of the bureaus and onto the wall, thus providing more usable space. I’m glad to know our efforts will be a welcome change for you and others we hope!

The organic steel cut oats at breakfast are new this season, have been well received, and for sure will come back next season. I’m pleased you enjoyed them!

Thank you for staying with us and until we meet again,

My warmest regards,
Lisa

What a jewel! Lovely staff and great location. We, along with a group of friends, all gathered at the Pequot to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversaries. On our arrival my husband mentioned in passing why we were there and Lisa, the general manager, surprised us by arranging for wine & chocolates to be delivered to all our rooms! The courtyard was inviting, a great place to sit and tell stories. On Friday evening the hotel hosted a wine and cheese social on the veranda and a continental breakfast with fresh scones and mimosa's in the mornings! A great place to spend a long romantic weekend.

We live in paradise in St Augustine Beach, Fl. First time visitors to the Vineyard and we were very happy with our choice of the Pequot. Convenient to ferry, public transit and the best restaurants and bars in Oak Bluffs. Walk to everything. Great breakfasts. Sunday Mimosas. Cocktails on porch. A perfect, romantic spot. Thanks Pequot! We will be back!

Hello Robert P,

Thank you for sharing your Pequot Experience! We’re so glad to read that you enjoyed our amenities and offerings. Our Sunday Morning mimosas and Friday Night Porch Party are new this season, and we’re glad you were pleasantly surprised by our latest additions

Located on Pequot Avenue, the hotel is well situated. We’re just four houses away from the ocean and only minutes from all that there is to ‘see and do’ in Oak Bluffs.

Sounds like you really enjoyed your first trip to Martha’s Vineyard. We’re very flattered to have been a part of your Vineyard memories. We’re looking forward to being a part of what we hope will be your Island Tradition.

I’m looking forward to seeing you next season! Be sure to give me a call, so that I can offer you the best available option for your stay!

Warmest regards,

Lisa

We were lucky the sun was shining for the 2 days we were there. We had a nice room but they can be a bit on the small size unless you upgrade. The staff are amazingly friendly and the afternoon lemonade and cookies is well worth breaking up your day for.
Breakfast is continental + with oats fresh fruit and quiche, a great way to start the day. If you are up for it hire a bike and see the island ( at anderson bike hire you get $5 off if you mention pequot) the towns are lovely and the bike paths are very safe. There is also a veranda with rocking chairs to kick back and chill on. Best place to stay in OB

Hello lapsters,

Thank you for staying with us at the Pequot Hotel. We’re so glad to read that you enjoyed the hotel, our staff, the Front Porch, and our rocking chairs. Many guests, like you, have discovered ‘Vineyard Time’ on our veranda!

The organic steel-cut oats, quiche, as well as a selection of gluten-free fare, are new additions this season, which have now become a breakfast-time fixture. So happy that you enjoyed them!

The Pequot has been recommending Anderson’s Bicycle Rentals for many years and we’re always grateful for the courtesies Anderson’s extends to our guests. With 30 miles of paved bike-paths on the Island, it’s easy to see why bicycling the Vineyard is so popular!

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back to the Pequot Hotel. Please be sure to contact us directly as we always enjoy speaking with our ever-growing circle of Pequot Friends.
Warmest Regards.

Lisa

We stayed on the 2nd floor (Main House) in Room #17 (with en suite bathroom) on the 25th and 26th. We could not have been happier with the location, room quality, hotel amenities and price point. A welcoming helpful front desk and staff. A lot of little perks here that made us think of a Bed and Breakfast instead of a hotel. A 10 minute walk from the Ferry Terminal in Oak Bluffs confirmed the fact that you do not need a car here. Bicycles are available for you to borrow and the whole area is very walkable. Afternoon iced and hot tea, coffee, lemonade, and freshly baked cookies as well as gingerbread. The free breakfast buffet was more than adequate and filling. A perfect stay!! Thank you!!!

Hello S V,

Thank you very much for your kind words and generous compliments!

The Pequot Hotel is well-situated; the property is close to the beach as well as close to town, yet Pequot Avenue is a quiet, residential, side-street. As you discovered, the hotel has all of the access of town, without any of the noise! Not to mention that bicycle rentals are easily acquired; Anderson’s delivers right to the hotel!

I’ll be sure to pass along your praises for our cookies, lemonade, and gingerbread to Nadir and Nicky. Those two ladies do all the baking and they are the reason why everything is so tasty. Next time, let us know your opinion about our fresh-baked scones!

Please be sure to call us directly as you make your plans for a future visit to the Island. We always like to offer special considerations to repeat guests.

Until next time,

Warmest Regards,

Lisa
